Anyone ever think of doing an Armored Fury mod or making new maps for it? Maybe some maps with new armor? Armored Fury was kind of a disappointment since EA added new aircraft but no new armor...

If you have any questions about which specific files you need or if you have a problem getting the files let me know. I don’t as a rule let the public download from my server but if you have trouble getting them. I keep server, client, and map packs files for all the mods that are released on a web server that I lease so I can let you download them from there if you need.
If you download the files and you want to try and hook I can host a small temporary server with or with out bots that we can get together and play so you can try out the mod with live players and not just bots. If you have X Fire my user name is “Chronicbuzz” you can add me to you contact list so we can talk. Also if you have Team Speak I have a TS server and can PM you the IP and info. I have both TS and Ventilo client so if you have a server for either one, we can try to get together on you server if you would like.
I am going to be posting a specific thread concerning this however I wanted to mention it real quick in this post so please bear with me., I am looking to get a US based server going for this mod and I have just started looking at possibly leasing a server to host this mod. I am looking at the possibility of having a clan, community or a group of interested individuals interested in playing this mod to either partner with me to host a US based server for it or to possibly rent or lease me a server to host the mod.
If you interested please send me a PM so we can get together to discuss options and or specific details. Please send me a PM if interested I would not suggest you that you give a sales pitch or quote me server rental rates on the forums as I am pretty sure the Total BF2 administration would frown on that

What exactly is the mercenaries mod and what is the AF add-on? Does it do something with the AF maps or are there new maps using AF vehicles? I have a dedicated box and one of the server I have installed on it is an unranked server that I've been using to test some different mods, so if this mercenaries mod is any good, I could test out a server for it.Comment

If you check out their web site at http://www.bf2mercenaries.freephpnuke.org/ , you should be able to get a much better idea than I can give you in writing of what the Mercenaries mod for BF2 is all about. They have some nice screen shots of the mod posted on the site as well as detailed information on the mod and links for downloading both the client and server files as well as the map packs and the Armored Fury add on.Originally posted by GrössKopf
As for the Armored Fury add on, it uses modified AF maps which are a lot more enjoyable than the stock vanilla BF2 maps that came with the AF booster pack. The Merc’s mod uses both modified stock BF2 maps as well as a host of custom maps that are great fun to play. The custom maps are made so that you can run them both as standard with vehicles or as I/O mode if you don’t want vehicles. This mod also supports coop mode incase you feel like kicking some bot ***.
I am going to be making a post in the “Server Owners Lounge” later today to see if anyone is interested in partnering with me to host this mod. I have 2- dedicated boxes however with the exception of one 24/7 Karkand server they are hosting all 2142 servers because that is where the demand from the community members is right now and you have to keep them happy with what they want or you loose your player base and with that goes member contributions.
If I can not find anyone to partner with me on this then I am going to see if any of there are any server owners with a dedicated box that might be willing to lease me a small server to host the mod. Both of my servers are maxed and I don not want to add another server to them as I am concerned that it will affect their performance. I also do not wish to take on the expense of another dedicated box just to host a mod server.

Also as I mentioned in my previous reply, currently they are at version 9.5 and that is what I am playing now, however version 10 is going to be released soon and it looks to promise to be a lot of fun to play.
