    It's the best mod out there so far. Finally something else than the modern combat theme. Good gameplay, brilliant maps, descent models and skins.

      well I finally saw the monkeys last night, in fact its was such a shock I served my jeep and crashed into a tree.

      Enjoying. Hours fly by. Got a bit of team play going last night.

      Thoughts. Better when...

      Some weaker maps are removed from cycles. That small river one most go.

      More helis. I have played for +10 hours. Managed to get into one heli on we were soldiers only to die and get swapped over to VC.

      Some sounds like "i see charlie every where" have no distance variable. Especially annoying is mortor leaving tube sound and someone hitting fire constantly. Why is "charlie helicopter" said by VC BTW?

      Snipers are restricted in numbers. 1 per squad maybe even less. Not a great fan as a pick up kit because talented snipers and good squads using tactics will get frustrated.

      Less nades.

      One more mag each.

      Slower mortor reload. But mortors are brilliant. But this is not the Somme in WW1. When jets and gunships are added infantry will not get far with being blown up.

      More dusk/night maps.

      Tone down Support weapon ever so slightly. Great job just too deadly.

      Single player heli map with gunship. So I can play and learn.

        I couldnt find any forum or thread relating to EOD except this one so ima post here, I aint gonna flame just constructive crits

        Basically i think EOD2 is the dogs billocks for a first release, I wont compare it to other mods as this is set in a totally diff time to most others like POE/PR etc etc so i see no point in comparisons tbh..

        I aint to sure how many peeps played the first version of EOD, Those who did will recognise EOD instantly as it has the same feel to it if that makes sense, Not to arcade based and not to harsh on the realism side of things just like EOD allways was, And there maps imo have retained that special eod atmosphere even if 1 or 2 could do with a few tweaks here and there.

        Sniper rifles - The biggest prob with this weapon is the fact that 50% of each team will sit idle useing his scope, This results in small 3-4 man teams fighting over flags while the other 40 peps hide in bushes etc thinking they Zaitzev.
        Deep Jungle is a perfect example as most time i play it the Americans are sat in there base sniping while the tickets bleed to zero, Not very intresting imo and im sure the creator didnt have that scenario in mind when he made the map..

        Dark maps - I have allways disliked these maps on the BF engine and still do although i accept they have and will allways be a part of EOD, However i would like it if the flares were added like they were in the old EOD.(If they are in i aint seen em).

        Morters - Seem kewl to me and very easy to use, Maybe reload times are a lil to low but meh i like them as is, They finally get used a lot where in most games they get left unused for the most part.

        Rifles/LMG's etc - I dont have a prob with any of the guns really apart from maybe the PPSH, In my opinion that gun is just far to powerfull and i have np's dropping peeps from really silly ranges, It's an SMG not the equivilant of an LMG.

        Nades - I dunno what can be done about these but i feel there are far to many, Some times there can be 20-30 nades being spammed at one flag wich is to much imo and needs toneing down a tad, Power is ok just to many of em..

        Dodgey animations etc i can live with and hopefully they sorted in later releases, For now though they dont effect gameplay so i see no probs.
        Same with teh vehichles, We all knew that it would be infantry based on the first release so again i can live without tanks etc dotted allover the place.

        Long first post i know but i wanted to have a lil input regardless of how small/large, Hopefully 1-2 things can be tweaked over the coming weeks and then we will be in for a treat.

        My first impressions of the mod are good and probably exceeded what i was hopeing for, However i think probs like the sniper percentage has to be sorted or the mod will lose numbers fast...

I noticed it when some of my squad members got shot and they were saying "MAMA...MAMA" and "I Don't wana Die" and this one time when I stabbed an American soldier on the VC side he said "Fu#$ YOU CHARLIE GO TO HELL!" THAT IS JUST GREAT!!!

            must admit i'd a good laugh at the "Fuk you Charlie see you in hell" when I heard it being screamed beside me, also liking the 70's porn in the medic lockers! puffy nipples Ahoy!!

              Also and easter egg I think, sometimes US will say "Back to NAM!" when killed...I thought that was pretty neat.

                I posted this in the main release thread but I just wanted to quote it here since this seems to be the official feedback thread (?):

                After playing some more I have some further suggestions:

                1) Errrr I think you guys may want to look into limiting the sniper kit somehow. Right now there are so many snipers on each team that the gameply degrades into hiding in a bush for most of the round and taking pot shots at the other team. Dont get me wrong--I love the idea of being an opportunistic killer, but the snipers have been getting out of hand. I'd reccommend making the sniper kit a pickup kit only or trying to implement some type of kit limiting system like PR. Personally I think the pickup kit solution is the easiest. Thoughts anyone?

                2) I really think the out of bounds zones need to be relaxed on some of the maps. Right now alot of maps turn into a nade spam fest because flanking manuvers are so limited. There are some maps where its near impossible for a team to leave their main base because the sniper fire and nade spam kills them on respawn. I think removing (or relaxing) the out of bounds zone would be a step in the right direction, and also considering possibly adding a dome of death around main bases.

                3) More smoke nades for VC Pointman class. He only gets 1! In fact I'd like to see more smoke nades in general among the classes. I especially think the medic class should get smokes instead of frags, since it can assist in reviving teammates under cover.

                Despite the stuff I wrote I'm still having a TON of fun with the mod. Very good for a first release and its nice to see BF2 mods finally starting to gain some momentum.

                I two more suggestion/observations hehe:

                4) Remove the super zoom on the VC officer's Mosin. Right now it zooms in so far its as if he has a scope on it. I think this may be a bug though.

                5) The door MGs on the Huey need a larger field of view and a little less deviation IMHO.

                      I think we need cobra's, huey gunships, chinook's, jets with napalm, and more tanks. As it stands I am alright with infantry but that is not why I bought battlefield 2. I bought the game for the same reason 1942 was so popular everyone loved the fact you could get into a tank or just sit around and camp as infantry. The fact is theres just not enough of these things.

                      I can't complain about sniper but it is a game. There is just to many people playing just sniper. I mean its a great kit and in the real vietnam war mortars and snipers were a pretty big thing, but some encouragement of playing the other kits would be awesome. Infantry is pretty bad *** but like I said the grenade spam, snipers, and mortars are kind of annoying. I mean I have literally been in a game where every second I spawned I had 3-4 snipers all taking shots at me. I was in War Is Hell where some guy just sit outside our base in the weeds the one base that hardly none of my team was at and sniped. He didn't bother to try to come take it, and then pretty soon a whole squad appeared. I mean did just spawn at another base to avoid it. I don't care about the other things? Just need some tanks, and helos to make things cool..

                      Perhaps bigger maps would be more adjusting and some transportation. Thats all I asked. I was a huge fan of the vietnam game. Alot of people from 1942 couldn't make the move but I loved the vegetation, the entire game was freaking awesome.

                      I had my doubts on this of course. I actually made a pretty foul post on their forums awhile back about how foul the models at one point looked. Now that I actually play the game is pretty awesome looking, and really enjoyable. So I guess I should apologize for my statements made that time. Sorry.

                        Exelent mod ....just a few things need ironing out ..mostly what ppl have suggested above...the main thing is definatly the lack of vehicles..but as Junglist said this is only infantry map release....I hope we can expect some of the classic 1942 maps like Charlie dont surf, Khe sanh, Vinh loc, An Lao Valley ect ect in future updates...keep up the great work devs


                        Oh and a realy nice map i think is Jungle Heat....flying medevac hueys through the network of rivers givs a nice nam feel to it..would be great to see that map in eod2

                          yeah, we wanted to get the infantry "base" of the mod nicely balanced before we start throwing too many vehicles in there. We do have a lot ready to go, they just don't feature in the maps yet (cobra, mig21, various tanks/apcs)

                              Lets stop beating a dead horse with "needs more vehicles" for two reasons:
                              1. This is the first release.
                              2. They said they wanted to focus on infantry with this first release.

                              If you haven't played EoD for BF1942 or BF:V then trust me, there will plenty of vehicles!

                              Constructive criticism:
                              -I'm okay with the power of the sniper rifle. However, when half my team and half the enemy team is comprised of snipers I really get angry. Go play vanilla or make a single player map and mess with bots if you're going to whore the sniper kit.
                              -Mortars. Very cool weapon. The tubes are small so I assume they are 60mm. Maybe sound and blast radius should be adjusted to suit this.
                              -GIVE ME CCR!
                              -U.S. Marines anytime soon? Can't help but ask

                              Overall:

                              So excited to play this, its great. Very solid first release. Much more fun than vanilla and PR. Can't wait for more!

                                FREAKIN SWEET! I haven't noticed so much the mortars, but the sniper thing really gets me. I think 75% of the time I get killed by snipers, and it leaves flags unasaulted.


                                Other than the sniper thing, I love this Mod! Great job to all who had anything to do with creating it! To me its great because it does emphasize teamwork. I think the stat-related unlocks is what made BF2 (and 2142 for that matter) turn into a stat-whore fest. I am guilty of this myself. In 2142, especially I found myself checking my personal stats before seeing which team won the round. Also, maybe I'm stupid, but many times in 2142 I could not tell when and if a team was on ticket bleed. Most of the time I didn't know what would even CAUSE a ticket bleed. I know that if I didn't know most of the other noobs didn't know as well. Made for a very boring experience IMO.

                                Here is what I LOVE about EoD2.... It seems like people really care about the final result of the round which is what it should be about in the first place. Perhaps its just that the game is simple... You have several flags, get one more than half and the other team bleeds. I LOVE IT!!! This type of game play really creates a battle front. It doesn't feel like you are flying around capping flags all the time. I feel like I am doing something that makes since and that makes the game 1000 times more immersive.

                                I would like to see some servers playing the other game types, though just to see what they are like.

                                Edit: It would also be cool if the medic's syringe could kill enemy. Like a morphine overdose or something. That would be cool.

                                My favorite part is when you revive a US troop and he says, "Oh no! Back in the Nam!" That is freaking great!
