are you playing LAN with several pc's wired together in the same location or using Hamachi.cc to create LAN gaming over the net?

Nah just a lan with my mates. We all cruise over to one of our places, setup all our PCs, then lan via switch. No net usually. (Location isnt really net friendly and most dont have dsl). Just wana be able to play BF2 with boosterpacks and unlocks/maps available.

Okay, I don't think DICE lets you do that really. They only allow unlocks on their ranked servers.

There was an unlock mod for single player at vBF2 version 1.2, but not seen anything like that since.

Whilst everyones getting together to party unconventionally, why not download one of the other mods and burn to a disc and install on all the machines?

Stuff like Battleracer, Battleships, the small fun Sir created ones? I think a wireless LAN with access to the internet might provide too much grief on your net line. Make sure you look into www.Hamachi.cc as it enables you to LAN over the internet so no need to carry pc's and monitors round to physical addresses (which of course, is half the fun!)

Ah ok, so its a legal problem or somthing.

I just wanted to know so we could all play EF with unlocks or whatever took our fancy. To me, LANing over the internet is pointless. The whole idea is were are all together playing, drinking and abusing one another in the name of fun. Its great, but we are just going to have to stick with generic maps and weapons by the look of it. I think they should change something, I feel ripped off having actually bought the boosters yet it wont let me play them offline (you can play singleplayer however it still requires an internet connection). I mainly feel ripped off because all I want to do is play the boosters (old I know, but new to me) online but I only ever find on AF/EF server... Ever.... (In Aus - And its 1 Internode server)... Kinda a waste of money then really.. Wish I knew that before I gave those nazis more money.

As for downloading another mod, I am uncertain. I am having problems with my ISP (7kbps of 512k? wtfm8?)... I'd only really made the effort for somthing like like that because I know id use it. These other mods I have never actually seen/played/investigated. Im not a mod person. I was only looking for a mod so we can play normal BF2 a little funner. Seems like its not going to happen.

That's a shame with your ISP capping you recently. If it's not a hardware problem, you might want to plead nicely for someone in your locality (don't know where you live) to burn some files to a dvd and mail it to you.

EOD came out today full public so that's one I'll be downloading and trying, have to try them all out looking for the fun to be had!

You can't use true unlocks offline but you can install a mod that makes the unlocks available in place of the standard weapons. Unfortunately FFOLKES has taken his unlocks mod off the forums but wolfi's weapon test mod is still available: http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56694 . You could use this as a basis for modding the kits yourself. Also, it is possible to play the boosters offline but this also requires some modding: you need to rename the maps (including editing files inside the zips) and also rename the booster_ zips that come with AF.
