    Landing Gear

Is there a button that puts out landing gear on a jet. Whenever I try to land on a carrier with a non carrier jet I always do a bellyland then need to reverse to the section where it repairs then it slows down air trafic. Another thing, with USMC jets what is the trick to landing without the hover, is it possible?

The landing gear on all jets will automatically lower when you decrease to a certain speed, which makes landing difficult if you've never done it before. For the F-35B, just press the backwards thrust key, whatever you have it set to, to make it hover. It will automatically switch to hover "mode."

Its not possible to land with out hovering in the F35 because thats the only way to slow down...unless you hit a tree :P

its possible to land every plane easily. slow down as you approach the runway, if u overshoot then u went too fast k?

My speed is about 300 as I approach the runway, just keep hitting reverse till it almost drops out the sky.

.. and keep your nose up

Slowly descrease your speed and put your engines to idle when you are on the runway (or where ever u want to land).

It's possible with a keyboard too..

Start slowing down well before the runway/carrier

I can easly land with any jet i just lower my speed to about 500 and then fly over to the carrier then drop speed completly and try to hit the carrier at the shallowst possible angle. I hate using VTOL to land i prefer to land like a normal plane coming on to a runway.

In Armored Fury you can land the A-10 and Frogfoot pretty easliy if u time it right. Quite nice if u recieve alot of damage.

Why the hell would you want to land anyways...

The only time I "land" is when i'm on a carrier, because it repairs alot slower than a strip.

Just hover for a couple seconds and start taking off before you finish, so when you are just leaving the carrier you are just finishing repairing.

If your plane is almost destroyed, and you want a full repair, you have to land....you can hover with the F35, but thats the same thing as landing pretty much.

                          Re: Landing Gear

landing with f-35 is just as easy with other planes. if you use a joystick, instead of putting the throttle all the way down, put it half way down because the second half for the f-35 is designated to hover mode. so when i land the f-35, (rarely) I put my throttle half-way down. With other jets, i put it all the way down.

as for practicing landing, just cut your throttle when you are 2 airstrips away from the beginning of the airstrip.

heres a visual for you visual learners:

                          )JET> ------------ ------------ ==========
                          _____^_____________________^
                          >>start cutting>>>>>>>>>>>airstrip begins
                          >>throttle here

BTW shadow i wouldnt tell metal how to fly..

                            Re: Landing Gear

                            Landing is NOT the same...

When you land, first off, you need to land... and then you need to repair.. and then you need to take off..

If you are in an F-35B, NEVER land, just come in and hover for maybe 2 seconds, and even if you aren't fully repaired start throttling up (since you know there is like a 6 second throttle response delay or whatever it is) so that when your done winding up the engine you are taking off and just finishing repairing the last bar.

The longer you take to repair the higher chance you have of getting killed.

If you have an airfield, and you land, well, sorry but you are stupid. Just fly really low over the green box with the antenna, and if you go like 500 (which is pretty slow) you should be able to get about 50% repaired.

landing takes too much time and it makes you a sitting duck to enemy missles sometimes its easier to bail out and get a new jet
