USMC AA Gun Strat. on Wake Island

Just some help for those of you who think the AA guns are useless..

The best AA solution I've found only works on maps w/ Carriers...

First off, NEVER use the AA gun on the end of the carrier, it's got absoultely no protection from enemy fire and they can hit from virtually any direction they want.

Now, the one about midway across the carrier is workable, it's got the protection of the control towers if nothing else.

But the trick, is to stay sitting at the edge of the railing next to the missle pod. Just sit there and wait till u spot a jet coming towards the ship. (So that you can avoid the common "gun sniping" the migs often do.)

Don't get in the AA gun right then. By not jumping into it and by staying on the edge of the railing, you avoid giving them an easy lock and prevent yourself from getting killed if they decide to shoot the AA anyway.

Once they are very close and you know they're not going to shoot your AA station, jump in and shoot the crap out of them.

Takes them by surprise and gets you some nice ownage without having a K/D ratio of like 1/10 for the round .

    Hope this helps.

I love the AA gun at the end of the carrier, no one expects it so I can manage about 10 kills a game in that. I do agree don't jump in until they are flying aimlessly by, but I don't agree with your carrier theory. Seeing as I used the carrier to get my primary badge in the first place and use the carrier to get 10 or so kills I use it quite often usually with a K/D ration of ~10/4 (~ meaning higher or lower) I have managed to get 20 kills in one round with it (though only once). Not a bad guide but I would mess around with it a bit and see what other methods there is to effectively use the AA.
