PR Help?

Alright, I've only played the mod about 3-4 times, but love what I see so far.

I am, however, having those nasty CTD issues that many people have mentioned when trying to load Gulf of Oman and Mao Valley (these crash during the loading process, usually towards the end, just before the JOIN button appears). I updated PB and did a registry clean as-well as a disk defrag and still get the same problem.

Anyway, another unusual issue I am getting is on the Al Basrah map..

It loads, but when I look around, I get the following screens:



I'll walk around for a few minutes, then the game CTDs.

I'm 99% sure that's a graphics card issue, but wanted to see what you guys think?

many ppl are CTDing on GoO and mao? first ive heard of it lol.

and thous screens aint very big, only thumb nails but from the looks of it they look like artifacts, which means your GFx card is probaly over heating... 2 ways to fix it, get a new fan for your gfx card, or a new gfx card or the less exspencive option, turn down your gfx settings :p

do you get any errors when you CTD on thous 2 maps? try loading them in window mode and is it SP or MP you crash on? cheers :)

i am getting similar problems with the graphics card but no ctd it always happens when im in a jet right when i dive down on the enemy my graphics card looks like it looks like someone wiped there booty with it

so I just put my settings at a lower level

I don't think I've ever updated my GFX drivers.. can anyone help with that?

I have no idea what version my current drivers are.. do you know if I can just download and install the 7.3 drivers right off the bat?

Best method with ati is to download the free version of Drivercleanerpro prior to uninstalling your drivers.

step 1) remove drivers and catalyst control centre
step 2) run drivercleanerpro, remove multiple drivers, check all Ati ones
step 3) reset machine
step 4) install latest Ati drivers
step 5) reset machine


An optimised pc is a happy pc. Apart from drivers, theres always cleaning your registry with a relevant tool and defragmenting your hard drive so it performs faster. These will help you play faster.
