It seems to me a ton of new mods are coming out or releasing updates and the player mod population is soaring.

i dont know about a soaring population of mod players, god i truly wish it was. ive never seen more than 1,200 people at once playing all bf2 mods combined and its usually steady at about 500-600 people and it might spike near 1000 during peek times on the weekend on average for every mod combined and half of those players are sitting in the illegally ranked servers because they think they are getting vanilla points or just have to see that symbol next to their name. too many rank whores in bf2.
its really is a kick in the pants for the hardcore mod player, i mean where does USI sit, not one player and i think it blows the doors off of the majority of mods out now in the content and playability dept. you might see 80-120 poe2 players during peek hours if your lucky, i mean how sad is that. the rank system had a seriously detrimental effect on the mod player count, you can see that just by looking at how many mod players are in those bogus "ranked" mod servers compared to the legit ones, its usually about 50/50.Comment

What the hell is everyone in the community that weak minded? It’s like you all have been brain washed by EA in to believing that is all about stats and rank, well I say ******** to that snap out of it people.
The worst thing to ever happen to online gaming was when EA introduced the stats and ranking system to BF2. They packaged the stats system as part of the game and then used it not only as a selling tool to get people to buy the game but as a device to control the game itself ad well as the life expectancy of the game.
If you open your eyes you will see that EA does not give a rat’s *** about their customers or they would not have left us high and dry with an unsupported broken game so they could pursue lining their pockets by releasing more flawed games at the expense of their customers. I guess the revenue from the expansion packs and booster packs was not enough to satisfy their greed.
Please don’t get me wrong I understand quite well how business works and while I can accept the need for them to continue to develop and sell new products I do not agree with how they conduct their self as a company and how they treat their customers that spend money to purchase the games and support the servers that run them.
Look it is what it is. The sooner you folks open your eyes the less disillusioned you become about all of this. EA has managed to turn intelligent sane people in to mindless sheep and convinced them that this is all about playing for rank and stats when in fact it is all about control and profit at our expense.
My point in all of this bantering is that if you enjoy playing BF2 and you want to continue to see it grow and thrive in the gaming community we need to break free of the EA brain washing and start supporting the mod community as they are our best hope for keeping BF2 alive and well.
