A Mod is short for Modification, and when someone is talking about a mod for BF2, they basically are talking about a specific kind of Modification someone has done to the game.
For example: You mentioned Motorbikes. The "motorbikes" are found in a BF2 mod because someone has created them and added them in.
All you have to do to be able to run a mod is to download it and install it. Mods are what make BF2 and its engine so great - they allow people to make any kind of game they want.
Playing a mod will not effect normal bf2 so you dont have to re-patch or anything like that , just think about them as they are other free games that are all made of the bf2 engine .
From what I have seen so far I like the PR mod, however it is a little involved for the average gamer with all the specific details and player requirements you seem to have incorporated in the mod.
Please don't get me wrong, the mod seems great, but as I am not big on reading instructions, I may be missing something here, so I need to ask why can't I fly any of the aircraft or helicopters when I start a local server and please don't tell me to go read a big long list of instructions.
Keep in mind I am not an idiot...I just don't have time to take a home study course in how to play a mod. Any hints , tips or tricks would be appreciated...sarcasm not so much.
