How does one use a USB headset and have the sound come through main speakers at the same time.
My little nephew likes to watch me play, but he cannot hear if I am wearing my headset. If I take headset off, I cannot talk to squad.
Help would be appreciated.

When you use a USB headset your not using your onboard sound or soundcard, you've chossen as the sound device the DSP (digital sound processor) chip located somewhere within the headset .
You can make your voice come through the speakers. By unchecking the mute button on your mic panel in windows Play Control . A muted microphone on windows volume Play Control doesn't prevent the mic from outputting sound, it prevents sounds from reaching the speakers.
A USB routes the sound through the USB port the headset is plugged into, thus eliminating anything else outbound (Sound jacks , soundcard jacks etc etc.)
Unless there's some sort of a splitter they've made that can split the outbound USB sound to your headset and then to a set of speakers, doubt there's a way because the signal would still need to be processed before it reaches the speakers.
Also, those you are talking/playing with will get really annoyed when they hear the sounds coming from your speakers and will most likely let you know. Never have your speakers on when you are using a mic. All your speaker sounds are picked up by your mic. I really detest those that have a TV show going in the background and I get to hear that too.
go to contol panel and hit sound and audio devices then click the audio tab at the top. for sound play back, select your sound card, for sound recording, select your usb headset.
thats how i set it up to use my usb ps2 socom mic with my surround sound headphones plugged into my sound card.
