Who here has got ARMA?

At first i was like oh no ive waisted my money,getting shot up ,getting lost:laugh:

But im very impressed with the game(a modders dream)the weapons and explosions are great.Each weapon or armorment requiring a skill in its own.

Anyone else got this and going thru the woes of learning:p

the graphics are great and its the most demanding hardware game ive ever seen(more than bf2 and more than flight simX)

I do.

Runs like crap, though.

And yes, I know it has steep requirements, but it ran 500 percent better before the v1.05 patch.

It will be infinitely better once the add-ons and mods are released.

Demo ran like crap and I never fealt like I was having fun, didn't buy the full retail.

the conrtol are very hard 100`s of button but the reality put bf2 to shame

It is a real war simulator:salute:

no bunny hopin and quick draws lol:laugh:

and the demo was crap compared to the game im really starting to like it but its real eg. drive for 5min to the battle ,disembark and set up a front or defence with more than a mile away you can take pot shots or use armor(missiles)

Its so real is very hard:guns: but the few kills u get feel great

its more like americas army(which i liked alot) with respawn and 30+ vehicles

p.s the little bird is wild!,the AH and blackhawk are great,motorbikes and the jets are awesome.

(im getting around 25 fps(ARMA) as bf gives me 70+ but the slower FPS(IN GAME STYLE)if u call it that makes it ok to play but hope patches will free u some)most say 30 fps is what u need <I AGREE unlike 40-50+ fps bf 2 needs

How does MP work? Spawn and all.....?

Cons: 1-It may take you ten minutes to get to the battle and get a kill
2-you may get shot alot because snipers can fire from over a mile away
3-people will need to work as a team eg TANKS-tankdriver,tank commander,gunner but you can do all 3 by yourself too
4-the maps are massive and you can get lost

Pros: 1-you wont get killed every 5 minutes by some stupid unreal arty
2-lots of toys to play with(im trying to work out the javelin atm)
3-if you dont want to grab a helo or truck to drive to the battle you can parachute in over the battle
4-the weapons are great

if you like real war not cs eg..think americas army with respawn,armour and airpower

respawn usually 25 seconds
maybe not as fast as bf2 but the sneakyness makes up for it
both games rock if you have spare cash try it.but if u dont like americas army you wont like this style game-Rambo

Is there anyone here who owns Operation Flashpoint and also bought Arma?

Have to say that I was very, very pleased with OF and from what I've seen Arma is OF2 in all but name.

I have it. It's definately a lot more enjoyable (In my opinion) than battlefield 2. It's probably due to the fact I appreciate simulators more than any other genre. It takes work to make things feel right as they would in the real world apposed to adding things to make it fun, not really testing it with things in the real world.

Coop is the way to go with the game.
