Best mod out there?

I am looking to start playing Bf2 mods and Id like to know which one is the best ( out of those released and having some people playing )

all the mods are good and all worth a go!

but the ones with the most players at the mo is PR, followed by POE2.

every one likes diffrent things, why you should try every mod, POE2 and PR are both really outstanding mods! hence why the came 1st and 2nd in MOTY :p

for a man that loves SWAT 4, that's a little weird to pick the arcadey team deathmatch game over the tactical realism option.

Not really, I am not the kind of guy who limits myself to tactical shooters while calling people who play CS/UT/whatnot "gay" or whatever. I like SWAT4 because while its a tactical shooter (surpassing PR in this department IMO), and rewards players who choose to go the rough part of teamwork (again surpassing PR) directly, both in success and point wise (surpassing BF2142 BY FAR, rewarding people for their efforts, not people who rely on game bonus mechanics), it STILL needs people to be EXTRA fast, EXTRA sharp and make EXTRA fast snap decisions to come out alive. Just like in AA, in PR you dont really need to think fast, you just need to come up with the right decisions.

In SWAT4, its all a matter of 1/10s of a second, if you dont make a decision, or make the wrong one, youre going down.

And while both are realistic, tactical and reward an experienced thinking player- SWAT4 is just too different, which doesnt put that game into the same box as PR.

POE2 might be arcadey, but that doesnt mean its "worse". For me POE2 is what BF2 Vanilla should have been, step by step, and PR would be a niche mod, catering to the kind of people who appreciate what it has to offer.

Bottomline- I play BF2/POE2 (well, used to, havent touched them for month) because they represent enough carefree roaming with good fun gameplay, while SWAT4 represents the game where I get to outsmart my opponents while not feeling that its too much of a work and hassle.

In a sense, SWAT4 took the niche spot of realistic tactical FPS for me. But Im switching to Vegas soon anyway, with either FFOW or QW taking the spot BF2 lost.

guys, guys come on!

both mods are very good and both mods add a very diffrent gameplay exsperiance. diffrent players like diffrent things, so both mods are there for both types of players, just accept maybe the guy next to do dose not like the same stuff you do!

No need for muck spreading. Go download PR and POE2 and you'll be happy with them both.

I have to say...Airmaps ftw. Personally nothing beats it imo. Still I would have probrably said pr if this haddnt happened....

There are lots, it all depends on what you like to play as, try some of the minor mods, (Australian, and other small ones)

After you try out those, try our POE and PR.

Best thing you can do is try them all or most and make your OWN decision. If you don't like it, then uninstall it, after all, it's FREE.
