Can someone tell me if this is true?

I've been told that if you go commander and then sit in a ground defense or air defense or anything like that. Any kills you get with artillery count towards your kills in the air, ground defense. If this is true, are there any other things you can sit in a rack up kills using artillery. I.e sitting in a transport or something.

Tansport kills is running people over only, ie 11 kills (iirc) IAR for expert transport is running them over. not shooting or commanding from.

Ground defense are the stationary machine guns like the RPK and SAWs that are attatched to a barrier or something similar and TOW and HJ-8 missle turrets.

Air defense are the anti-air turrets that are scattered around the map as well as the mobile AA vehicles.

Try not to jump in the any thing your troops need just for the sake of a badge.

One of my only intentional TK's was that of a commander sitting in the TOW at Gate House, the apposing forces kept trying to get vehicles over the bridge and he wasn't using it, just sitting in it commanding.

I typed, I even tried VOIP, eventually I just TK'd him. The 8-13 seconds he couldn't command was worth the trade off.

Why go for the badges then? I'm still trying to figure out this mentality.

IMO they don't have much meaning to begin with, but isn't getting them via this fashion only further reducing any value they had?


What's more fun for you guys, getting a badge of finding away around the difficulty of getting it? I'm beginning to think there's not very much difference anymore.

I remember back in the early days of bf2 when a commander would get the points for every arty kill , say on karkand 64 comander would get a lot !

I'm with you; frankly I'm sick and tired of what seems like the majority of players that play for points instead of fun. I just hope that this trend doesn't continue into games like FFOW and ET:QW.
