Known issue with Vista and BF2 , problem appears to be fixed with a Microsoft Vista OS update, here is details and where to get the stuff.

Notice that even MS stuff is having problem with MS stuff...that's MS for U !

INTRODUCTION
The March 2007 Windows Vista Application Compatibility Update is a package of software updates that address common application compatibility issues in Windows Vista.

When you try to install and run certain legacy games or applications in Windows Vista, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

• The game, the application, or the firmware may not be installed correctly.
• The game, the application, or the firmware may cause system instability.
• The primary functions of the game, the application, or the firmware may not work correctly.

This update is cumulative and supersedes update 929427. In addition to the fixes that are contained in update 929427, this update improves support in Windows Vista for the following games, applications, and firmware:

B4 someone asks, for one is bound to do so I am sure - What's the difference between BF2 and BF2 Deluxe ? Deluxe you get BF2 + Special Forces.

If you are experiencing such - it would seem natural to install the vista patch don't you think, specially if you have read what the Introduction says ?

Give it a try and let us know - this end I do not use Vista !

no, i used to use vista, but went back to xp, vista slows games down soooooooo much

its never slowed mine down BF2 plays sweet as a nut does not crash or stagger/stutter
benched marked 3dmark06 with 1 x 8800gtx at 12558

You're doing something VERY wrong. Vista is much faster on my PC than XP.
