I agree, it is by far the best pounder gun for a few reasons..
Firstly, no gun offers a 30 clip pray and spray with as much power...besides a PKM/RPK. But at least with it your spray can be prone, standing or crouched, unlike the PKM/RPK.
Ive found that unlike most guns were you say "fire off a few burst", the AK's can do that or just spray down mutiple targets. The Dmg. is such that given the well known bull$hit cone of fire the AK counters it misses with a punch when it hits.
Now couple that all with your choice of..
A. Insta heals/Revives
B. GL/Body armor

Well as far as infantry goes its a wet dream.

I put down the Support RPK recently and started playing more medic using the AK-101. IMO it's the best assault rifle in the game. I only use it on single-shot mode and position myself in mid-close range combat. Crouching & zooming to hit mid range targets and quickly tapping fire for close combat. An experienced ground pounder can easily maintain a great K/D ratio.

AK101 is a great gun, but can be out gunned too often by an experienced player using the g36e. Please dont try to argue the opposite because any experienced ground pounder should know the superiority of the g36e.

I believe if you truely are good on the ground, you should have learned by now to respect the g36e. Only once respect is achieved will you be able to conquer your opponent using any other gun.

oh man i love the g36e, i also love the M16. AK is good but rather random, one day god mode next day im taking a dirt nap! g36e is just reliable, maybe lacks the punch like some people say but u just gotta choose your shot type. i travel maps on single shot, but if im going for CQC it goes 3 burst.

sure u can get a lot of stick for using an unlock, but who gives a flying giblet! good thread :p

I agree, the 36E is the god gun.
Tho, I hate hate hate burst fire guns I know there just as useful but I always feel weaker for some reason. They are deadly accurate no doubt, but i always screw up with burst fire guns. Ill admit Im not even at my 100 hour mark for medic so I cant say much, but these last few weeks Ive spent finishing out the last 40 hours I need (6 more to go ) and in that time Ive found "I am" better with the non-burst fire guns...which is why I shed a tear when Im USMC.

yea well im runing 5 feet behind a guy and Im shooting at him(not zoomed in) and not one bullet hits him

so I have to stop and zoom in to kill him, oh well Im not a big fan of infantry anyways

Yeah, sadly I do agree with ya here. But then again, you dont actually aim at the chopper if you TV either, so take the *******ness of the BF2 weapons just like you do the TVs, with a trick, and with crossed teeth :p

the thing is tho, things change as your ping changes so getting used to those tricks takes time

Ak is a good gun if one knows how to use it otherwise my favorite gun is the RPK since that has nice and and alot of ammo

It is by far my favorite gun in the game.

A hot *** killing machine. Short distance its a beast.
With GOOD aim, semi auto its not much harder with long range than the other rifles.

I love the AK, The only gun I love more is the US single pump shotgun. I think it is best for CQC.

the Ak is only better than the G3 is because of ammo capacity. The g3 is more accurate, and packs the same punch. G3, IMO, is the better gun. I only use the ak's because they are fun to use, look cool, and because of medic. If the g3 was for the medic kit id use it non stop. If the g3 had 30-rounds in a clip, it would be the best gun in the game hands down.

and why in hell would anyone switch any auto (A) gun to semi-auto (1) ?????????

i think single shot is more accurate, less recoil and better placement for shots.
