MEC and China ribbons

It has been asked a few times but never clearly answered on loads of sites.
(probably also here...)

But, what are the requirements of the MEC and China service ribbons?
Most of what I have found say '1s' on every MEC/China map.
What's 1s? A second? A Shot?
And apart from this, is there a total amount of hours in MEC/China needed?

A correct answer would be much appreciated

Search works well and a few stat sites have the correct info, just have to hunt for it. I forgot since I got them long ago...

I think what the OP is getting at is that there are SO many websites that say different requirements. From what I've gathered its:

1. 1s (one second) playing in each map in that theatre.
2. 5hrs total in that theatre.
3. And it seems to only appear after you have around 25 hrs of global play time.

That makes sense. I have to leave Karkand to get them though LOL

There is more then just Karkand if you didn't know. There are actually other maps in the game, no joke.

Surely not N2K, Whenever you bring up the server list theres nothing but Karkand on there, where do you find these new maps? Were they introduced in a patch or something???

I call BS.

This shows how much EA sux. There is no China side in BF2: Strike At Karkand FF=OFF but they're stupid enough to put a ribbon in for them.
