Well, today I was playing some IO Karkand....I know. I just wanted to snipe a bit. Anyways, I was doing pretty well. Near the end of the round, I got someone in the head a split second after I saw him(pure luck), and he typed, "so cowman what version of BF2Pro are you using?" I had no idea what BF2Pro was, so I just assumed it was some sort of hack. Well, I looked it up later and found out that it's a mod that changes parts of the game, such as accuracy. What confuses me is why he asked me if I was using BF2Pro. Since it's a mod, it shouldn't affect vBF2 gameplay(therefore not a hack). With the improved accuracy in BF2Pro, it should technically lower your performance in vBF2. What do you guys think?

Re: Kind of confused
Eh when I was sniping in Karkand the other day I got a lucky streak and killed like 5-6 ppl in a row while I was facing em alone (mates died trying to reach square) and *hiding* behind the fountain. Sumone called me hacker wht made me laugh a lot. Dont listen to all those frustrated ppl. Luck is an important factor in gaming and one of the only thing everyone have in common. :)
I also think your right saying that using such a mod that increase accuracy would lower your skill in normal BF2Comment

Re: Kind of confused
That's part of what I'm confused about.Originally posted by Gun Slingerhow can you run a mod while playing vBF2.....it wouldnt be same version
if you used BF2 Pro, you'd have to play on a server that runs that mod......just like if you run the PR modComment

Re: Kind of confused
Its not possible, and that guy doesn't know what he was talking about. BFPro is a mod (not a hack) used in competition for CAL and TWL. You cannot run Pro in a Vanilla server. You got off a good shot (lucky you), he was just on the receiving end, and tried to accuse you of a cheat. I wouldn't put much into it, and forget about it. Go play...have fun.Comment

Re: Kind of confused
BF2 Pro is a mod developed by CAL for scrims and matches, it adds sound effects to the guns (MP-5 and M-4 most noticeable) the sniper rifles also get cross hairs.Originally posted by CowmanIIIWell, today I was playing some IO Karkand....I know. Re: Kind of confused
Yeah, I know. IO Karkand...I just "needed" a quick round before I went to bed.
The conclusion that I've come to is that he apparently mistook BF2Pro as a hack. Still, the bottom line is that he wrongly accused me of hacking(which I don't really have a problem with). Thanks for helping to clear this up for me.Comment

Re: Kind of confused
Anybody can get in a good sniper shot and some you think should hit seem to miss altogether. I reckon he's just a sourpuss who couldn't take getting killed (probably 12, has thick glasses taped together in the middle, wears a bow tie and has 20 pens stuffed in his pocket organiser. lol). PB may miss some third party hacks but a genuine mod would be picked up as you log on so it would be impossible to use in a normal game.Comment

Re: Kind of confused
Still though there are some people who think if you make 3 or more good shots in a row you have an unfair advantage (A.K.A. cheating). Your getting better at BF2 and its starting to show, thats all it is. Now on some rare occasions Ive been on servers where every shot I made went exactly where I aimed it and the ones slightly off still killed my target. It happens, I cant tell you why but I think in all the rounds Ive played its happened maybe 4 or 5 times.
Oh and congrats on making it to the very improved stage. You know your there when you get called a "hack" or asked which one your useing. . . . . . . . . . . .RedComment
