RIP, Skrat1

[Sloi sauce]

Some of you may have heard the news from friends in BF2Combat or more personal sources... and for those who haven't, well here it is.

Skrat1, a good friend from Iceland and a terrific team player from BF2C, FSSF and pubs, recently died when his boat sank. He's leaving behind a wife and child. A memorial has been prepared and can be downloaded at http://www.eglnetwork.com/shows/cast...timemorial.wmv

OH! That is horrible. I really hate to hear about people dying that are good people and have people that are close to them that loose something important.:cry:

Man, I'm gonna miss him. This man did some many thing for me, I just wish I could have payed him back.

Every once in a while you hear about something that happens that just makes your whole body weak and fills you with sadness, ruining your whole day or a week at a time. It's times like this when you know you've lost a true friend, I may have technically never met Skrati, but I feel like a better person for knowing him through TS and what he's done for BF2C.

Skrati loved BF2C, the 1MC, and the MAW. Skrati would always book off work for the battledays and stay up to ridiculous times in the morning because of the time change. If there was one person you could count on to be there the whole battleday it was Skrati. He was always sponsoring groups of people at a time. I wouldn't be surprised if he spent thousands of dollars in sponsorships in BF2C. When he sponsored me to enter the tour he sponsored almost my entire 12v12 team. It wasn't only the 1MC that he sponsored people for, if other teams were ever in need Skrati would volunteer to offer money so that they could build their roster back up.

When my video card crapped out and I wasn't able to play for months at a time Skrati offered to paypal me the money to buy a new video card and anything else that I needed if it wasn't compatible. I told him no simple because I couldn't accept an offer so generous but I was astounded. I always wondered if someone could be so generous to a complete stranger on the internet how they acted to their friends and loved ones. I'm sure he made a big impression on those he met, both IRL and over the net and will be missed greatly.

He didn't go to TBF2, he was in BF2C with us.

I didn't know him, but he sounds like he was a fierce competitor.
