its hard to fet on the SVD as its less accurate but i find 2 or 3 shots to the torso at any range will kill them. Its more of a long range assualt rifle that just oes not have a crosshair or burst firing.

im 166 in the world with my weapon and 103 with my kit witch i found quite impresive, thats only because i have a lot of hours on my sniper i think.:laugh:
My ratio is 1.4 but that is because i died alot in the early stages of bf2 because it was my first online game. I consider my self one of the top snipers in bf2 now tbh(not trying to enlarge my e-penis or anything). If i have a full squad with atleast two medics and im the squad leader i will normally get on average 40-3 with my kit regular now. I use my weapon the same as i use any of the weapons in bf2 and 90% of the time i get headshots. After over 500 hours on a kit u get to know it quite well lol.

P.s if anyone has ever played with me then they could back my story up(if you think im pulling your leg that is)

I think you killed me twice, I'm not sure but the name sounds familliar. Either way it wasn't a sniper, it was a headshot with an RPK at like 100m+.

Anyway, I find I get 9 kills in one SVD mag, which I think is good...all headshots...wait....aim....BOOM HEADSHOT!

LOL just two behind you. Jemme is 30 ahead of us with his main account (but he has been playing with other accounts also, so actually he is more ahead ). NantenChronic is also ahead of us and dont_be_ss is number 9 with the rifle, so we got plenty of skilled players here.

Numbers won't tell everything, we got good snipers here who are not that high in ranking but whom I have played with and I know they are good (Hello D ). Numbers won't actually tell anything, numbers can be bent, twisted and manipulated. If you want to know is Mister X any good, play with him.

When firing a SVD, assuming the targets are at full health:
- It would take 3 shots on an unarmored target (medic, engineer, sniper, specops) to make a kill.
- It would take 4 shots on a armored target (AT, support, assault).

I really enjoy to walk around as a sniper... but I don't do it often, because I'm always sitting in a jet

because i never use support\granade spam, im purly medic\sniper\specops

why? you can have some noob who only stays at the outskirts of the map and for the entire round have 5 kills and 0 deaths........and then repeat the same thing for the next round and the round after......

OMFG! He's actually being a real sniper! God forbid that! That's exactly what I do.
Like my super-secret experimental sniper-medic alt, trying to focus on complete accuracy and not dying at all... he has a KDR of 3.11 and highest accuracy of 29.87%. It could even be higher, because there was some sloppiness on my part (reverting to my gung-ho and charge style) and several rounds in which for some reason I couldn't snipe anything anymore.

I will move up with my squad to support them as they cap the next flag, but I try to remain away from the close combat to maximize my role as a sniper.



Sniping in BF2 makes no sense to me though. I'll go a couple of rounds sniping the living crap out of everything - stationary, runners, bunnyhoppers, then the next round I can't kill someone just standing there - taking 5 shots....

I try to keep my deaths as a sniper to an absolute minimum, 0 if possible. I figure that if I die as a sniper (if not from another sniper), I have failed to play the class as intended.

after reading this thread i made a new account today and played as sniper only.

OMG the amount of kicks and bans i got was unimaginable. The abuse was awfull aswell. i took a few screen shots of one server i was just banned from.

It was [MFI] server, and if anyone knows if they have a website i would like to give them an ear full about the abuse i got from there server. The funny thing is it all started when i was on a sniping streek, i was 17-0 and going strong when one of them said you hacking f**ker(i didnt grab a screeny at that ffs)I replyed to him with "no no its a new account i have over 250,000 on my other one" and from that point i was a target of bullying for a hole round. Not once did i abuse them back, i just typed lol at everything they said. Its obvious to me that some people dont like getting beaten by low rankers even when there is an explanation on why there rank is crap but they can still get high kill streaks. I was banned just before the round was over i had 98 kills and was going for 100 kills and i was top of the leader bored(also didnt get a screen ffs, i was gunna wait untill the end to take a shot), next thing i know i was banned for padding stats.

P.S i got promoted, does that still stand or because i was banned just before the round ended do i lose my points and rank?

Yes, if you're playing sniper right, and you have the opportunity to shoot at a lot of people, you could end the round 40-0. That's what snipers are supposed to be - the unseen enemy.

When ever I have like 10 enemy people 100m away I always die so easy since 1. I can never stay "unseen" and 2. I can never be patient I always have to go in for the knife.

Go for the pistol man. Easy kills if you have a fast clicking finger.
They know they are getting hit, but dont have a clue where from. Ive seen myself lying in the grass shooting away and a whole squad cant see me lol

Sound plays a major part in this game and a silenced pistol can be deadly
I dont play sniper much but i do love all the pistol kills

Bleh my aim with the silencer is not good at all although from time to time I do get a deccent pistol kill. Or the times when you run out of ammo one clip of a fun and your in a fight with another person and you dont want to reload you wipe out your pistol and you have a good ol fashion pistol fight.

The pistol is probably the most acurate weapon in the game. You dont need a good aim. Like when your sniper you hit someone (not a head shot) and leave them 2 bar health, whip out your pistol and can finish them off at crazy distances lol
