    I've made a resolution: no more redlining/TK-ing

Well, today I was banned from a server for "killing" a teammate (took off with the attack chopper, bailed and it crashed with the gunner inside). It is an awesome server I'd say, one of the few that has all maps in rotation, constant admin presence and good latency.

I do have self-knowledge and know that my play style causes grievance sometimes: as a chopper regular I can't bear sharing the vehicle with a lesser skilled teammate. Any player with a reasonable amount of time in the chopper (and decent skills) knows how annoying it is to get a incapable gunner or pilot. I've always said and I'll repeat: the attack chopper is a unique tool where you have to rely a lot on your partner. If any of the crew members can't do their job the helicopter is being wasted.

So, I've lost count of how many times I've TK'd, or redlined, or whatever for the chopper. But this one more ban finally opened my eyes I made me realize how much of an asshat I've been. Henceforth, I refrain from teamkilling, redlining, crashing or similar tactics to get the chopper, unless the targeted player proved to be an idiot by employing similar tactics.

I apologize for all the pour souls I sent to virtual hell before, and urge people that do these moves to stop it too.

Public commitments are more likely to succeed. And I just thought it'd be good to share it.

I know a bunch of people that do what I did... And I know that's not right and I also know that a lot of people will bash me for that but it's OK. :p

Yea I don't TK for anything unless I'm TKed first. As for redlining, I don't ever see myself parting from that.

Sounds to me, Churra, that you're making this public announcement in the hopes that your favorite server's admin will take notice and unban you.

... or perhaps you've really lost your mind.
            Kidding!

sucks but the best thing is to keep trying servers till you find one that works with your style of play, and is kept in order with that style by admins. takes some time but worth it in the long run.

Someone did that to my clan leader on N2K's server...and my clan leader switched positions and pulled it out of the crash...then picked up my clan mate and flew away. I don't think they got shot down after that either.^.^

DON'T STOP NOW!!!! I'll never stop tking and I've been doing it across game after game because it's just not worth taking some idiots crap. TKing/TW/VD'ing him and ruining his game is very much achievable, especially if you have other folks in on it. I just don't care, I never have. When I used to play DOD alot I was completly evil aside from aimbot, tking on a whim and using the spectator bug oa whole lot. I couldn't care less about the babies crying....because they really didn't care either and it was well known that aimbot was rampant anyway. Every man is his own little emporer on the internet it seems.....oops even me.

Sorry for the rant but I've been dealing with idiots on FPS games (as we all have) for around ten years

                        For you DOD veterans:

                        spectate
                        spectate
                        spectate

How do you expect a player to become a better gunner if they are redlined everytime they jump in the gunner seat?

Everyone knows playing this or anyother game is completely different when played in single player mode. The dynamics are different when it comes to multiplayer vs single player. One can own bots and suck when playing agianst real players.

The only way to learn any skill is to do it. At one time everyone had to jump in the gunner seat for the first time.

I agree that a good pilot gunner combo can dominate most any map, however, even the best players have a bad game every now and then.

Nice to hear Churrasco. You may loose some points by doing so but now, when you help your team to win a round, you can be sure that your team really appreciates you for your effort.

Btw, nothing prevents you soloing if you can do it without a teamkill. Nothing wrong there.

Gunners who try, don't get redlined. It's as simple as that.
