Localization Mod Legal or Illegal?

ok, i have a question about modifying your localization files, is it illegal or not? Reason I'm asking because I was banned out of a server for it saying it was a hack and was cheating, so if someone could post something about it would be really nice thanks.

Modifying your localization files is fine. Given it only is visible on your computer screen I don't know how anyone else would even know if you'd modded your files.

Well they way they knew is because every time i type in team chat or when i'm dead it says OWNED in all caps with orange color added to it.

How did you did that one I'm just curious a clanmember did it and someone else hadn't had a chance to ask it. You just make the *DEAD* Prefix change colour cause mine's orange too and I don't know if others will see that, lawl.

I got mine from www.bf2s.com, I just searched localization mod or something like that and I look at them all and choosed the best one.

It's becuase other players can see it. Ringmasters are 100% legal. But if you change what another player sees, it's illegal.

I thought you ment having the "You killed....." in big was illegal.

Well what I have is like when you are dead, instead of actually saying Dead, it says OWNED in all caps orange, and the You killed part is all big but they can't see that.
