clean up your gpu or this might happen

well my GPU died a few weeks ago because I never cleaned it up, there was so much dust in there and the fan wasnt able to work properly so my GPU would get hot, this is what happened, just a hint for some of you :p

had it for like a year, it was a 7800gtx

i clean out my case every 6months & usually treat the PC like a new build, (formating the HD, re-installing all apps & o/s )

cleaning is such a pain since im pretty bad at putting stuff backthe way i found it. like when i took out my video card to clean it a while ago, i forgot to put it back in, then i forgot to hook up the power cables, and then yeah..bad bad

I open and clean my computer weekly, sorry for your luck with that card ouch..

7800's are still good cards.

And canned air is pretty cheap compared to new Graphics cards.

well it worked good for over a year, I never cleaned it, I guess I was too lazy, Ill make sure my new gpu doesnt end up the same way :p

I clean my PC every month or when it gets really dirty. As for the HDD I usually backup my raids onto an external HDD/s and reinstall the OS + Apps. That only occours every year though or unless needed sooner.

Crackers. That's an awful fate for a 7800 to suffer. Got to watch those temps. Got to!

Lined the inside of my case with a 1/8" thick washable coarse air filters.

Added same to the back of intake fans.

Only a very tiny bit o' dust gets past the filters and into the case. The filter dampens the sound too.

I clean my case every month, but ever since I got my Thermaltake Armor case its pretty darn clean inside.

Unlucky thought with that, just shows that a computer does require some work to keep it running unlike what some of my friends say,

oh well is your card still under warrantie ? or see if you can exstend it and a weak well look at that that's a supprise my card broke, and get a new one sent for free ? any good give it a go

I had a PC from 1996 I think, 150MHz Pentium w/ 2MB S3 Virge graphics and 32MB EDO Ram, and I didn't clean it once in the 6 years it lasted and it still played HL1 perfectly?!?!?!

Weekly is too much.
