    Question On Skill Level

Hey. I've read several posts on this forum where people brag about their elite skills or how they claim ownage, or whatever.

I guess my question is, do most people really require being better than everyone to have fun? Or do you crave a challenge.

Personally, I'd like to find a game where I'm of a similar skill level to people. If it's not challenging, it's just not that much fun. I equate someone racking up stats on lesser-skilled players to the tough guy in high school who spent his time picking on the weaker kids, because he didn't want to get hurt standing up to the bigger guys.

So how goes it? Are you someone who likes a challenge, or someone who has to have the last word every time?

If a game ends 5-0, or 0-5, I'm happy. That pretty much sums up my attitude on the matter. Balanced teams and skill is more fun. Having superior skill unbalance on one side or the other makes the game boring or frustrating.

"competition" is by far more enjoyable, if found.

It depends, the best rounds are ALWAYS when it gets down to around 0-3 or 3-0 where everyone actually worked together and capped and used actual tactics. But I have to admit sometimes I get bored, and getting gold wether one round or numerous rounds in a row feels pretty damn good. Especially since the snipe kit is so looked down upon.

I'm just happy when I see green dots heading towards the flag I've just marked as an objective, and once they spawn on me they get away from me!

I've been known to challenge CAL-M players to a round of BF2, and I've never backed down from a challenge on the TBF2 boards yet.

I only play on the team that I get stuck on by way of joining the server, auto-balance, or team randomizing after each round.

The only challenge that I won't accept is joining a server where I'm instantly put on a team that is already being constantly base raped. I don't even spawn before I click disconnect. :hmm:

I don't actively seek a challenge though. That would require effort.

I tend to go to the team that is sucking, for the challenge. My win/loss must be something like 0.4 because of it.

Man, I love a challenge. It always makes me step up and play better. Just like when you are having a bad round of golf, you need to cool down and rise to the occasion. Bring the thunder and i'll bring the lightning.

i love challenges too, especially when its intense. Like a jet thats on your a** and he fires all sorts of weapons that you dodge, thats what i find fun.

but racking up ridiculous amounts of kills every here and there isn't so bad either.

This round was amazingly fun, and stressful, and fun...and fun...

Then again so was this one...

^And I was playing horribly...and joined about halfway through. They specced me for the next two maps...O.o

                        Oh yeah...I like a challenge.

In the sky, I'll dogfight anyone in almost any combination of jets. I like a challenge, thats why I said yes when I got invited into BF2C.

Just ask Metallica, when hes on my server we usually spend the whole round trying to kill each other. lol

                              Re: Question On Skill Level

I switch to the losing team, grab medic or support kit and start fighting. I do not exploit the weak, but I win 80% 1 v. 1 infantry and about 50% of 1 v. 2 infantry. But I never say "Gee, I can talk on almsot any 2 guys, let me find the best guy on the server and fight him". I like a challenge but I am not suicidal. I do not run from fights either. If 5 guys come around a corner then I give it my all trying to kill them. If someone says "Lets go on another server and 1 v. 1, you have been bragging too much " Then I say, "What server"? But no I do not join the server where I see a 65-2 guy from [HAX] clan with 5 [HAX] buddies right beneath him on the scoreboard.

                              Cheers
