ALOT of lag.

Well, I used to be very hooked on Battlefield 2, and played it every day. Then I got Battlefield 2142 and played that for a while, Then I got hooked on World of Warcraft. But now as i'm trying to play the Battlefield 2 & 2142, im noticing a HUGE lag. I used to be able to play both of them on medium graphic settings with no lag. But now I cant even play them on low graphic settings with less then a 200 ping constantly.

I have tried the following:
-Restart Computer
-Scan for viruses
-Uninstall un needed stuff
-Run ad-aware
-Exit all open progams
-Re-Open Game

And soon if I cant get this working im thinking I will reformat my computer, give it a clean slate, so:

Soon to try:
-Turn off 300gb external harddrive while playing (It might be lagging because it tries to find files for the game in there or somthing.)
-Reformat computer

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Because I would really like to get back to this game.

wat are ur computer specs? and how many harddrives do u have and wat speed are they

I dont see how that stuff is relevant - seeing as how it was working. And I made no hardware changes. The only thing I did was reinstall it, and now its not working correctly. But while typing this message I realised how screwed up my computer is, The text on my typing keeps freezing up and whatnot. So im going to reformat right now and see if that fixes it. - I will leave another response if it does, unless I forget =D
