Yeah, I checked my ping. It was roughly 155. Maybe it is just wise to skip this tournament (pity, I was really waiting to see you fellows in action).

Next time, if you could get some UK server...

If everyone here who singed up would be willing to pitch in a few dollars a month we could get our own server in the U.K. and then just use N2k's server untill we get enough for our own american server.

haha, I have a paypal account. You could easily host a TBF2 mappack night also.

We could and thats acctually a good idea since few servers play those but tbf2 does not ahve its own server yet we are having to borrow N2k's for this event. It would be good if we could raise up 64$ and have a tbf2 ranked server or atleast an unranked server so we can hold these types of events.

I just talked to a buddy of mine who rents a dedicated server. His server is located in Chicago and I would get the same ping as I would in my empty Dallas server. This server is a 64slot server, but can be dropped if needed.

He also told me can set the map list now and reboot to have some test runs.

Well, maybe we should setup another list and ask people if they will contribute to a TBF2 server through paypal. I am no longer in the know about what 64 slot servers cost. Thing is though, I really would only want minor rules on their and not massive ROE oversight. Most everyone on here has a tolerance to some level and we know how far things should go.

I am one of the 10 people that posted I would like to help. I can afford (to some degree) to help in a monary way..but I do not want to front the whole bill. But, I would not mind paying $5-8 a month with an auto pay on paypal for a server. I think if we had 15 other people that were cool with setting up a paypal account for a few months, we could host a server for a little while. I mean hell, I can go through $10 in gas driving my truck in two days, so, $10 a month towards a server is chump change.

What all is involved with hosting a server?

I believe the cost is 2$ a slot for ranked servers at least that is what it is from see me play me. I will start up a poll on and see how many people would contribute to a Tbf2 server. I dont have a paypal account or a job (under 16) so i cant really help with money since i dont have paypal.

If we could have someone who has a pay pal account who is willing to buy the server give out their info or something so that we could start taking contributions we may have a server by nthe end of the weekend



N2k I got a report from Ace fin that the chicago server is acctualy more laggy for him averaging a ping around 185

Actually, I think we should go with N2k's offer for now. And get the TBF2 server online soon after this weekend. Idea being, we need to work out the bugs, logistics and donation scheme to get it up and going.

Really good ideas.I like the idea of getting our own server.
I could see myself donating 20-30 bucks each month.


ALSO,Should we get a 64 slot if we did get one? Because as of now we have more then 32 people signed up.


I say we use N2K's server this Sunday since he's nice enough to let us. (the dallas one)

And after that we will work on getting a server to turn this into a monthly,or weekly,or hell daily hangout since we'd have our own.

I just find it funny that I stopped playing Vanilla a few months ago to just play strictly expansion packs, and not I am in talks here to put up money for a vanilla server!

we dont have the money for a 64 yet. and yea we should stick with dallas for now maybe we can have a Tbf2 ownage in england next time. also when you get back we should have a metting between those helping out with this on xfire.
