What happened to the racism thread?

There was a heated thread in this category this entire week entitled "Racism in BF2" (I believe).

That whole thread is now gone. You can't find it in the list or in search.

I suspect it has been removed... why?

I won't post here anymore if the forum moderators remove entire threads without even a hint as to what's going on... especially on a topic as important as that one.

If I'm blind I apologize... it's been a long day... but I swear I can't find it anywhere...

haha, there are a few threads that disappeared over night, while every one was in bed.

Maybe because it had the "N" word in one of the screen shots so it got dumped on a technicality.

I can't stand them DELETING threads.. maybe locking them and deleting offensive posts.. but not delete the whole thread.

i wouldnt expect ppl to notify everyone of every thread that gets removed, including why and when....

Well, how convenient... a clan server is getting bashed because someone was harassed on their server and the ensuing thread just kept dragging that clan through the mud... it just wouldn't die down...

Well there's a way to have it die down... poof! no more embarrassing racism issue, no more problem... right? yikes.

I think that thread brought out the best and the worst in it's posters and the community in general... at the very least, an official explanation for it's absence is due. The moment a thread with some real debate comes out, and it disappears.

LOL, I remember I had someone QFT me on that thread... so much for that!!

I wonder how long it will be before this thread is removed?

Really, it kinda bugs me too. Once and awhile, yes, something does need to be deleted. But to see over and over and over threads that are well traveled getting deleted..arg. Hell, they don't even end up in The Vault section. Just lock it with a nice community note telling why. Hell, I think it is funny that when I leave at night the thread is well talked about, but when I get back on in the morning it is gone...just when everyone is not looking and asleep.

The staff here must not like posts that are controversial. Its called Censorship. Pretty typical on a pub forum.

As much as I will debate anything and everything I don't think I'd want that type of subject in here, even if it is related to BF2 in some way shape or form.

I'm sure the administrators feel the same way. Can't really blame them.

There are other forums for those subjects. This not being one of them.

Censorship is such a harsh word, how about taking out the garbage. The owners of this house must keep it clean and refined, they are paying for it you know. =o

I'm a literal , straight to the facts type of guy. If I type in certain words, the word filter kicks in. That's censorship, by definition. If someone makes an post that the moderators feel is inappropriate, and it gets deleted or edited, that's censorship, by difinition. Its not harsh, its just what it means.

yeah, that is true, considering how much bandwidth all their forum sites are taking up now...it gets to be more then just hosting a little server in the corner.

Hell, my office has several gig internet connection...that is all the point-to-points, the few OC-48s to the cloud....yeah, I could see they have bills to pay being a datacenter.
