Never really pay attention to it because I play on servers I know I'll get good packet traffic with.

There are a couple...

I usually get kicked for "high ping" when I am trying to select a kit... The beginning of a round always has the worst FPS and ping for me... arty f's everything up also.

Sorry to not answer the question... but if a server kicks me because of it, it sucks for the above stated reason. Otherwise there are people with 200+ ping playing, and everyone moves in motion (body moves, but parts don't).

You may have to do like I do. Make a list of servers that you have played on in the past and that you know the ping is ok.

FYI, the ping depends on how long it takes to send a bit to the server and get an answer back. Some servers have the ping (the highest acceptable or you get auto-booted) set to low. Some servers in Europe have it set at 100 and I have been kicked for a high ping of 80. Without knowing where you are I cant be of much help, sorry. Good Luck, though. . . . . . . . .Red

insomnia?? i think they kick when u reach around 250-300. i just got one question though, why are some of the servers when u update servers have ping=0? when i go into the server, i get 200+ ping? anyone?

Dont play on AUS servers if u live in EU. Thats a start.

scroll through the server list picking out low pingers adding each one to your favorites as you go along then test em and remove as needed.

the UK jolt servers doesn't kick for high ping...i think u have the same problem that i have (you were kicked for high avrage of ping ) <---seeing this massege alot :)

hey guys I really need some help. My ping on any Battlefield 2 server is extremely high and it makes online play un playable. But when i'm playing singleplayer the computer has no problem generating everything and controlling the BOT's no lag occurs. Usually it would be the other way around, right?
Comp specs- Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.4ghz, 1.00 gigabyte of RAM, Nvidia 6800 (256)MB 256bit, 160gb hard drive. Not a bad computer. it runs the Halflife 2 engine just fine and i have low ping in Counterstrike and what not.

So if you could find any problems with this let me know
