Really good video, but I have a couple of questions:

What does the pilot keep counting down? Several times he's says 3-2-1. Is it the respawn time of the AA vehicles? How on earth can you keep track of that and do everything else - does he have a timer sitting on his desk?

It also seems that the gunner is firing TV missiles at targets he cannot possibly be able to see. Is he just firing at spawn locations - particularly AA vehicles? There was one point where he fires at something and misses and then says, "oh it moved".

You see the pilot's video, but what you here is the gunner's voice. He (the gunner) is counting down the seconds it takes for the TV to reload.

Now there are several possibilitys for the gunner to "see" things all over the map.

        1. Commander spots --> he sees it on the map
        2. He shoots a TV out while over the pad or in another situation and spots vehicles himself while controlling the TV
        3. Experience
        ...

The countdown is from the gunner, it's the time until next missle is ready to fire, (the pilot will know how long to hold a position to allow him to fire or let him fire and move on to next target), and missles are a great way to spot things like AA or other helos. Sometimes from last sorte, a target can still be there. Also, IMO with his flying style, its ok to send a missle out early to give the gunner more time to line it up. That vid showed very good communication between pilot and gunner.

I saw alot of similarities to my gunning style ...(I countdown to missle release as well). I have flown with gents that use that flying style, very fast paced, very intense. As a gunner, you have to keep up the pace, grab targets when you get them, be accurate, and know there's not alot of time to answer the phone. The one thing I was the most impressed with was, how you were aware of your situation enough to know how much damage you could take and still stay alive. That part where you turned around to give the gunner that last missle shot on a tank, with the warning buzzer going, is what I mean. Most pilots wouldn't care, and just head back to the pad. Also, I think it was your second death, you almost pulled it off, getting away from AA, another helo, and probably a jet. At that point I was well into the vid, and really pulling for you. Nice stuff.

I would love to gun for you ...except, after a few rounds, I would probably have to take a break, shower, and relax a bit, to get my heart-rate back to normal.

hehe yea, finding a gunner who knows what ur doing and is able to communicate with you is great, Ive been flying with Hawaiian for a long time, he tought me a how to solo btw

            thanks for good comments :)

btw if you are a gunner, on your TV screen....while you are reloading, theres a white line on the bottom that shows you when the TV will be reloaded, thats what hes using to tell me when the reload will be complete

btw I'm not playing BF2 anymore, haven't played in over a month, I think Hawaiian is in college, away from his home now so he cant really play

I might reinstall when sloi comes back, I wanna play with him, hell only be able to play for a month or so

I really have no idea when Hawaiian will come back, haven't seen him on xfire in a while

              Thanks for the clarification.

The video reminds me of a question that came up in another thread earlier this week. A couple guys were wondering if the developers every thought guys would become so good at this game - particularly the chopper/plane pilots and gunners.

I'm not sure this is true, but given the sad state of anti-air in this game (one of my big rants if you've read my previous comments in other threads), I have to wonder if the developers had any idea that guys would develop such piloting/gunning skills.

For me, I was just thrilled when I got my first air to air TV kill last week!

I think this, as a concern, came out pretty quickly after people who would spend hours and hours practicing one specific part of the game just dominated. The problem is, while this "area" may be fun, the counter to that toy isnt. So while ajet junkie spends 1500 hours in his jet, theres nobody to spend 1500 hours in its balancer. That is where DICE failed miserably. It should be FUN to use.

On a sidenote, C4 chucking, G-launcher use as primary weaponry. This is all a part of the same problem. People will exploit the sh!t out of stuff they think is fun (and profitable).
