ok my other thread was deleted so ill make a new one lol. I have vista and its running my game choppy need suggestions on how to fix this. When i was in the military last summer i was with XP and had no problems i also had a 4mb internet conn, here are my specs


AMD 64 X2 3800 dual core
1024 Ram
Nvidia 7300 gs 256mb
350 Watt Power Supply
Soundblaster Audigy SE
Windows VISTA

wow, you might be fighting an uphill fight because of that PSU. You should do some TraceRTs and ping tests to servers just too see if you have a lot of packet loss (not the same thing as ping speeds).

But if you are running Vista, it is well publicized to be an anchor to your games when you are deficient on RAM.

Might want to post over in the support forums in the future.

I heard Vista would required a gig of ram due to its graphics, that may not be enough to smoothly run both. Just a guess, or at at least where I would start.

yeah vista uses alot more resources = more lag for you if u have a weak system

1) As I have stated in many threads VISTA is 20-60fps slower than Win XP Pro!! (BF2, Doom3, Call to Duty, Half-life, Splinter Cell...etc) so your will be choppy because of low fps!!!
2) VISTA is a memory hog, 1GB RAM just to make VISTA happy forget about running BF2 on VISTA without 2GB RAM. (I run XP Pro and have gone to taskmanager in the middle of a game to see BF2 using 850MB of my 2GB RAM)
3) VISTA likes the newer graphics cards...nvidia 7900, 7950, 8800!
4) Most manufactures drivers stink right now or do not support VISTA.
(Its not just your graphics nVidia drivers....mouse, keyboard, headset, sound card, printer, chipset, modem...etc drivers too)

I would not recommend VISTA as an OS to any gamer....even the ones I don't like!!! LOL
