    M95 Help?

Well, I love to play sniper. But anytime I line up for a far away shot with the M95, the poor crosshairs make it really hard to hit the guy.

Since I'm not getting SF, do you guys have any tips/help for using the M95 for long range shooting?

    1.)Hit enter, then suicide
2.)Spawn a kit that is actually helpful to the team.

There isn't really a solution to the thick crosshairs, you just have to live with it.

Even if you don't buy SF, you can still get the SF unlocks. You need to log in and play a round on someone else's copy of SF. Then when you logout and log back in you will have access to the second teir unlocks. (I haven't done this, just read others' posts about it.)

So then you can get the L96 and have nice thin crosshairs for long distance shots.

Don't listen to him. A good sniper will get the best K/D out of any infantry anyday.

What you should do is find someone with SF and have them play a round of SF on your account, that way you get the unlocks. Personaly I like stocks better. But if you're on the chinese team, it takes ALOT of skill to pull off long range head shots with 88 so the L9 comes in handy there. I can play a round of SF for you if you want. PM me.

Yeah the M95 is a specialty rifle. Not the best for day to day sniping.

But it is fun to tag pilots, and blow up smoking jeeps.

            Here's where to aim:

The red crosshair is where the bullet really goes.
            Here's the thread
            .

Also, don't overcompensate for movement or bullet drop. The crosshair should be touching the guy's head in almost all cases (not for vehicles though).

What does KDR prove? The way to win is cap flags, and sniper by far have the hardest time doing that, thus they are useless.

Yer always aim slightly above your target , the only way to get good is to practice...

                  BS

A sniper can run faster and farther than most, hide better in foliage, and has two defensive claymores and a silenced pistol.

Some flags like the Sharki TV room, are custom built to be taken and defended by a sniper over all others.

I went 20-1 once doing just that, with an ammo crate on the deck to resupply between waves of attack. Tied up a six man squad for half the game.

I never have a problem capping flags, and the only people who beat me in placement at the end of the round are med/support whores who have 100+ team points. I almost always have under 10 deaths, and over 30 kills now-a-days. And I ALWAYS try and win, even if I'm the only one going to go and try and cap. Nothing is hard when you have the SVD or the Type 88! But it's true there ARE half-assed snipers that sit in one spot the whole round waiting for people to run into view, but there are snipers (like me) that put forth an effort to win too.

WMV, you said that you are having trouble shooting guys at long distances...don't forget, the farther your away from the guy your shooting at...the more you have to slightly tilt the crosshairs upward becasue the bullet drops after a certain distance.

Good luck with that rifle. Even if your aim is dead on, it's accuracy is pretty poor compared to M24 or L96. The same basic fundamentals apply to all sniper rifles in this game. The only differences are firing rate, damage, penetration, crosshair size, and accuracy. If you can fire your M24 accurately, then the M95 is just adjusting for size of the crosshairs, and crossing your fingers that it goes where you want it to go when you shoot. Hate having to use it on SF, because it already compounds upon a horrid hitbox system, with poor accuracy. Missed too many headshots with it that were dead-on aim, because it was either hitbox nullified or the round deviated. M95 does seem to suffer from the worse hitbox problems, too. It's the weapon I get the most amount of headshot mulligans on. Not a miss, because the head rocks around registering it, but having to hit the same shot twice because the round didn't register damage.

                          Re: M95 Help?

Even if they're a terrible shot and they never kill anyone, a sniper still has a positive effect for their team. The presence of snipers makes people afraid to step outside for fear of being shot, and afraid to walk around corners for frear of tripping a claymore.

As any kit... if you're alone and drawing the attention of multiple enemies I consider that a benefit to your team, because you're drawing heat away from them. When I occasionally play sniper, I love to fire a couple rounds at a squad to get their attention, then jump up and run (in plain sight) over a hill or into a building. If that squad chases me for a minute, that's one minute that they're wasting their time not capping a flag. If things go really well, they'll chase you into a building but be afraid to come in and finish you because the potential for claymores. Then they wander around throwing gernades, looking for another way in, calling for artillery and supplies, etc. If you alone can creat that much diversion, you're an asset to the team.

unless you wanna camp carrier to frag the guy in the AH1Z or the F-35B then be USMC and use the M24 it owns. By far the best sniper rifle, minus the L9 which is in a class of its own

                            just a thought...

ok, there are 6 capable flags on sharqi, and 1 of them has a *chance* at being taken by a sniper...

                              as I said...
