depends on wat games u play. if u stick with bf2 yeah i would go for a 7600gt and that should last u maybe until next year and then u can start investing in the dx10 cards.

and im not sure about the power requirements for the 7600gt, but im guessing around at least 400 watts

The ones I've seen have been mostly 350 w/>18A on the +12 rail, i.e.:
Buy EVGA GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card 256-P2-N615-TX with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!

OP you need to know the max watts and the amperage on the +12V rail before you start looking for souped-up gpu's.

That 7900 mentioned by the poster above needs 400W AND at least 20A on the +12V rail, and if you've got a factory box, it's unlikely that it has a 20A rating.

Never know 'til you cracky the case, though.

I would not go any lower than a 500W Power supply on any of the newer graphics cards!!! Check the PSU...you will want 24+ Amps across the 12V rail!!

As far as cards go, I like nivida for BF2 (it is actually rated better then ATI cards for BF2) Don't get me wrong ATI is awesome and rules at CS, Doom...etc but I love BF2 so I went with nVidia...also my mobo uses nVidia chips.

As far as the acutal card goes, since the release of the 8800 all the other cards have come down in price. 7800 is good, 7900 is better, 7950 best.

          Good Luck
