7600gt is worlds away a better BUDGET choice for upgrade to get decent fps/eyecandy. Assuming he's got 18A on the +12V rail, he could slap one of these in and be done with it.

For a 7800 series card, OP will need a new PSU.

i got a 7600 gt and it doesnt require a seperate power adapter.

i was just going to say the same thing..

I have that exact card and im running it on some stock emachines powersupply for right now, but im gonna upgrade sometime soon.

Oh, I see, I think? "+18A on the +12V rail" is a measure of how much power the PSU can supply. It's not a separate plug! :)

Nice new system but it definitely needs tweaked.
1) If at all possible get Windows XP Professional on your system because VISTA sucks at gaming! It is 20-60fps slower in most major games then XP Pro.
2) Get a 500-600W Power Supply 24A cross 12V rail
3) Upgrade to 2GB RAM (match twins if you want the most gain w/ low latency)
4) Upgrade graphics card nVidia 7950GTX or 8800GT if you want noticable improvement in graphics and to be able to run all settings on high!

yes, i knew that. I read the other guys post wrong, i thought he was talking about the power of the power supply.

Anyways, im pretty sure my power supply doesnt have +18A on the +12V rail anyways, but my card works.
