Cheating??

After over 1000 hours I have come across what is possibly the first real hacking or cheating where I can definately say wtf?

I've obviously seen the car and crate spamming and taken more than a few uber accurate superfast shots which were dubious but possible.

However playing Sharqui last night in the early hours, I was commanding and kept hearing the supply crate dropped comms, looking at the map I could see the crates dropping for our chopper pilot who was then rearming and rejoining the fray, it wasn't excessive and only happened when this one guy was flying. Was he using the commander hack and if so why didn't PB pick it up?

There's a lot of noise about hacking and I was always in the 'Yeah right you got owned by a much better player' camp, genuinely surprised to see it so blatently being used for the first time. Anyone else think this is on the increase as it's left me a little more cynical than before. I've died a lot recently in one shot situations where you are left thinking, ffs thats impossible! Having played a few hours personally it's the first time I find myself saying 'Hang on a minute?' and questioning other players......

IMO, the increase of strange and odd behaviour by many players in BF2 in the last couple weeks makes me think some hacks have made it past PB and other checks, and will be rampant until they can catch up and nail the cheaters.

Several cheat programs have been youtubed with them in action in the last few days, not sure if they pass PB or not, but they're out there and players are actively using them.

That being said, I don't encourage players to be out there accusing others of 'cheating'...

If you were commanding, and there were supply drops, then someone was using the old commander hack. PB probably didn't pick it up because there are so many (individual) versions of it.

It happened when one certain player was flying the chopper. It could have been that player, but it really could have been anyone; like a friend of his.

I guess if you took some SS or video, that would help. Otherwise, just be weary when you see that guy again.

This must be your lucky day Frogatron.

There is a very respectable guy on these very forums with little bit exaggerated E-go, I might add, but knows a WHOLE LOT about punk buster, his handle is Bird Killer and he will gladly explain to you why PB hasn't caught this guy.

I really couldn't care if he was cheating tbh, most of the time I have a blast and am way to busy with my own game to worry about others, just surprised it was the first time I'd experienced it guys... quite funny really cos he was worse than me in a chopper and I suck!

what was so fvcking fun about it
it wasnt no fun at all for me when it might take 3-4 hours to fill all the slots in a server then some a$$hat comes in and crashes it
not only does the server empty because most wouldnt return but it would hurt the rep of the server also....making it harder to fill

since it has always been known to me to ONLY be fun for the HACKER....
APPARENTLY you must have used the commander hack and enjoyed yourself

The commander hacks are exceedingly easy to use. You can acces it through macros and glitches and I found a no fog glitch for it too (well someone else did and I enlarged on it). I never use them but I agree with the OP that he probably was and it is easy and more common...

no, most people have SKILL, and believe it or not, regardless of there "rank" anyone can have skill. Go build yourself a steel bunker, kthx.
