    Asus Array Mic

    Hello all,

    My specs are as follows:

    AMD Athlon X2 3800+ w/ Noctua UH12F Heatpipe cooler
    Club3D 7950GT
2Gb OCZ Gold Ram w/ XTC Thermal Spreaders
    ASUS Crosshair Motherboard
19" Widescreen ASUS Monitor w/ 'Splendid' video technology
Microsoft Curve Keyboard 2000 & Microsoft Optical Mouse 2.0
Antec cold-rolled steel case w/ 3 Tricool fans
    Sony DVD/RW Drive

Basically, I'm trying to get the ASUS Array Mic to work on BF2's VOIP - but it isn't having any of it. It works via teamspeak and Windows' recording program, but BF2 doesn't seem to pick up any noise from the mic whatsoever. I think I skipped the audio wizard just after the BF2 installation because I was going out. Is there any way to re-do this wizard? Or are there any other solutions?

Crosshair has ALC883 sound chip? If it's the case I'm afraid you're out of luck.

I think your issue is the same I'm (and many others) are having.

I think it's because chip has two line in's but BF2 only recognizes one. There's a workaround for Creative soundcards with this issue, but not for Realtek.

I'd be very happy if someone would find a fix.

Hmm. Interesting thing here. I've just started up my PC for the first time today, and I went to C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2 and ran the VOIP set-up thingy-ma-jig. Interestingly, it detected a voice input. I'm going to run the game now, and I'll post results when I'm done.
