crashes to desktop

please help everytime i start bf2 and i get to the server screen and when i move my mouse it'll crash to my desktop but it's saying i'm in the game please help

ok i got it fixed but when i try to join a game with a friend it says this version is older then the server any ideas why?

You might want to try installing the latest patch, 1.41.
