So I was playing on a I/O server last night

And let me start this by saying I don't enjoy I/O only servers. Not because of the inherent nature to stat pad, but because it's BF2 minus the vehicles, and turns it into a version of Counter-Strike.

that being said, the Two classes that were prevalent were...you guessed it! Medics and Support. Now I usually play a devious game of BF2, planting C4 on an already exploded UAV trailer so when the Engi/Cmder goes to repair it BOOM!

So I took that strategy to the I/O Server; I would kill someone, throw down some C4 under their body and wait for the 4-5 medics to rush and be the first to get the revive score.

You have to love turning the enemies weakness for points into your own benefit and receive badges.

I like playing Jalalabad IO and putting C4 in the rock (the one you can glitch into) and then going up on the hill and waiting for someone to get in it. You know what I do next :) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOmzor!

Can you please explain 2 similarities between CS and BF2 io, besides that fact that there is no vehicles?

I am not a big IO fan because of the nade spamming. But I have played RS: Raven Shield (similar to CS) and the game play between it and BF 2: IO is different enough. I like the open battlefields and the capturing/maintaining of flags.

I just think they should of created more of a ground version of BF 2 and remove the attack choppers and jets. For most maps, I don't think that would have created an imbalance.

IO with only buggies and hummers would be really cool. That would pretty much eliminate the huge chokepoints like the nade fest that karkland hotel becomes and the sniper gallery that the rocks outside the jalalabad outpost turn into. No armor, no air support, just cars and troops...oh, boats too. They're in IO already though.

i like both modes, I/O on city and of course no I/O on large maps.

What i wouldn't mind playing is something like daqing or oman I/O. When this option first came out, some servers did have this, now i never find one. Don't discard this idea as stupid, its actually pretty fun, but only when you have a squad that stay glued together. Anyone else agree?

They need to bring back supply lines.

We run a 64 man karkand IO, I occasionally visit it, it's to easy to kill people and way to many nades.

I farking hate these IO whingeing ba$tards, I'm an IO player and I can play in normal server too. Problem is with vehicle servers is that everyone whore vehicles, base rapes and makes the game sh1te. Thank god for IO. True test of skill unless you ask plane, heli or tank whores (and yes I can handle myself in all of these).

when the IO option was first released i played that for a while. then i thought it was starting to get a bit repetative. i switched back to vehicles and i havent been back since. ive also learnt how to fly the helis too:) i can control the blackhawk in most situations, and the attack chopper is progressing. i can fly it fine, but youll never see me land it and walk away with my body intact. which probabaly annoys the gunner and it annoys me too for the fact that i want to be able to and that it kills the gunner too sometimes
