Removing player names

Is there any way to remove the names above players heads?On maps like iron gator i cant see who's friend/foe due to all the clutter of letters.

you can turn off the 3d display which might help. use 'left alt' to toggle it. I know it turns off flags, but im not sure about the names.

Names are stuck. If you modify that, PunkBuster wil come to your house and break your comp to pieces in front of you!

Look at the uniforms...when in doubt, shoot first, ask questions later and be prepared with "Sorry".

it does suck that you cant get rid of the names, but i quite often these days turn off the flags and stuff on my screen, gets a bit too cluttered

The US Navy Seals and MEC Special Forces uniforms are so similar, it's hard enough distinguish between them on maps like Iron Gator. I can't imagine not having the name indicators on players...

its better to have the names that way u know who the enemy is.

I have not played PR that much, but does it have names above people's heads too when they are the enemy?

A simple suggestion that I personally think would make the game better is this and it is dead simple...

Get rid of the names above the enemy only.. this way if no name .. you will know they are the enemy.. the main reason I think this would be good is that it would make the game play a lot better.. as you would be able to sneak around a lot better .. hide etc..

I mean as is a jet fighter could really spot you hiding in a bush as they fly around.. it makes the whole game stupid..

what i am saying is.. the biggest part of the game that is a let down (imo) is that you can't really sneak around or hide because you have this illuminated sign always above your freakin head.. so ..you can really ambush or any thing similar.. if you get me?

I totally agree Porteous.But my main gripe was like in the belly of iron gator all you see is names everywhere and it blocks my view on the action.

i find that it isn't the whole blue on blue thats the problem

its gator mainly when theres just loads of names everywhere on several levels and they just block your view so you cant see that little bit of balaclava that happens to be weilding an AK

i would personally like to see a tag toggle, so you can have full name; rank insignia; just a line of the colour (green, blue or red); or nothing

would definatly help alot imo

You can easily modify that, but you will need to have the same code as the server is running so no.

It's a cool concept and maybe in a later patch it could be included but it would lead to ALOT more TKs.

It gets to be kinda a pain sometimes, I lag so much on Iron Gator I don't play it and don't have to worry about it, but I guess it would help if you could turn em off.
