So long to load

How come when the map has finished loading and when you are waiting to start the game it takes so long to start. I have a 1.1 mb connection but after the last map has finished and starting the next one sometimes when the map has loaded the game is already half way through.

Any pointers ?

Get lots of Ram, and configure a RAID setup with 2 hard drives.

If you searched, you would find numerous threads about this issue.
But yeah, getting lots of RAM is almost always the best solution.

I have the same problem,my assumption that loading into game takes longer the more info has to be verified regarding your stats

Ok, here's what I did.
Turn your graphics down. I have a XFX7800GTX and ran just about everything high, but honestly its not needed. turn stuff down until it looks ok (needs to be more practical than pretty).
UPDATE PUNKBUSTER.
This one makes a lot of difference (well, it did to me).
Download PBsetup and keep it on your desktop. Run it every few days to make sure you are up to date all the time.

These two small changes made a big difference to map loading times for me. Hope these help you, they are FREE :) unlike buying new hardware!

I am also interested in this topic. I currently have an A64 3500+, 2GB DDR400, eVGA 7600GT and 2 HDD's (1x 36GB WD Raptor 10k SATA & 1x 80GB Maxtor DiamondMax 9 7200rpm). My current setup is OS & BF2 on the Raptor & everything else on the Maxtor. Unfortunately my OEM motherboard (junk) isn't capapble of RAID... Where do you download the pbsetup file? My longest load times occur after loading the map during the "verifying" phase...

Im no good on this matter but to speed up your connecting to account server time delete all the red servers in your Fav's as EA is trying to ping them . My only idea is do what i do play 24/7 servers or ones that play 3 rounds per map
