Re: X2 points
thats what i was trying to say! winning doesnt offer any awards, except for those people who "dont care bout stats". I still think some sort of reward will go a long way in making this game more competitive.Comment

Re: X2 points
so at end say it says 78 x 2 is that 156 or is that 78 the doubled?, also you only get the doible points whilst commander correct, so say you have 25 points then you go commander you only get above 25 doubled?Comment

Re: X2 points
Just the Cmder, and it's notgay as you stated. Considering how much micromanagement is involved - If the Commander is in fact a good one - in locating all the soldiers, and coordinating scans and various drops.Comment

Re: X2 points
The reasoning is that the commander is providing information to the troops so that they can win the round. The commander sacrifices earning combat points, and team points in the hopes that the team will earn good scores and get the win.
Read the Guide to Command Mode thread.
As you know, only Commanders get 2x bonus if his team wins. However, it's not actually a 2x bonus but it's good enough to describe it generally. In truth, the game doesn't actually double your score, but actually adds the commander points you earned to your total score. The significant effect of this rule is
-Even if somehow, such as teamkill, you lose points, the bonus will still account for that point
-No one can double their points simply by becoming the commander just before the round ends.
So let's say you had the total of 50 commander points and overall of 50 points. You score 2 teamkills, giving -8 to your overall score to 42. The round ends with your team winning the round. Instead of 42 x 2 = 84, you actually get 92 points. Why? Because the game actually adds your overall score to the commander points you earned, so it's actually 42 + 50 = 92.
Conclusion, the formula is: Total Score + Commander Points Earned, not Total Score x 2.
Finally, players who rack up a lot of points by kills, teamwork points, and flag captures and quickly be commander before the round ends do not double his score because he had no commander points to be added to his total score at all.Comment

Re: X2 points
It would be your score of 78 multiplied by two.Originally posted by ReaperUKso at end say it says 78 x 2 is that 156 or is that 78 the doubled?, also you only get the doible points whilst commander correct, so say you have 25 points then you go commander you only get above 25 doubled?
If you manage to mutiny and the gain Cmd position, or if they leave the server then your score will be double if you win the game. you'll notice a lot of "Mutiny votes" towards the end of a round, particularly because someone higher ranked wants double the points.Comment

I see. So the mutiny vote won't give you points? Bizarre, since I gather certain players think it will. As I've seen great commanders who are trying to be mutinied near the end of the round.Comment

If any player with the highest score would be able to multiply his score by 2 by the end of every round BF2 would never be about teamwork and winning, it would be about scoring as many points as possible encouraging stat padding even more. You could forget about teamwork as everybody would be just killing and reviving.Comment

Re: X2 points
The points awarded to the commander are not based on his skills but the teams skills. Whenever a team member gets 2 kills you may find you have one more point. So when choosing to be a commander see what your team is like, if they're good your going to get a ****load of points and just the opposite if they're bad.But even if you do have a crappy team, try your best.Originally posted by polishfreak36thats kinda gay, but kinda good cause usually the commander doesnt get that much points unless ur really good
