Right, now I have is wireless called "Linksys" the single is getting worse I keep getting d/c from any...I mean ANY games. So I'm might going out to the store buy a ethetnet cord so I can get 100.0mbps. Right now I have is....11.0mbps . So tell me is that cord going to help me? I been try everything. Firewall off, add ports, update driver, Reinstall and renew patch, I active the patch, none of work even Css. So I think there a problem with wireless
Is it worth it to get ethetnet cord?

Re: Is it worth it to get ethetnet cord?
yea, it will be worth getting an Ethernet card. Not because of speed though, as 11mbs is plenty, but because it greatly reduces the chances of having random dropouts, interference and signal dropouts.
So, yeah, DO IT!!!!
You should try and get one of ebay, you can pick up a Gigabit (1000mbs) card relatively cheap (£10 or so). make sure you have a spare PCI slot tho.

FYI any wireless connection is only half as fast as it's wired brethren.

You mean you don't have 100 Mbps down yet? Must have comcast.Originally posted by alex98ukYea, but the throughput of Wireless is easily enough to cope with Broadband, only if your creating a LAN does speeds above that matter...

agreed, but i think wiffey will improve with the N generation, wifi can only improve with technology, remember mr gates famous saying about memory :-)Originally posted by camperstruckYes, get an Ethernet cable. There is a world of difference between Wi-Fi and Ethernet right now, and I don't expect Wi-Fi to improve much either.

100Mbps up/5 down
_FI_ber _O_ptic enhanced _S_ervice
"Knowledge"

ok, I'm pretty sure I just made that one up--high def "tv" over internet protocol with voice--but the technology is just about there, no annoying buffering required.
edit: it also means you could potentially completely choke a 160gb hd in 1600 seconds, or about half an hour.
