    Air-to-Air vs UAV

Has anyone successfully used the air-to-air missles against the UAV?

I was flying the coffin/taxi on Dragon. A J10 crossed left to right in front of me so I shot off about 4 missles at it. Further in front of me, the enemy UAV was up and just beyond that, our friendly UAV was up. 3 of the missles thought about homing on the J10 but then just scattered. One missle locked onto our friendly UAV and passed right by the enemy UAV on its way to kill our friendly UAV.

That was a pretty bizzare thing to see.

I've used them on infantry and FAVs and crap but never on UAVs.

Oh, and it doesn't actually lock onto UAVs.

It's not supposed to lock on friendly aircraft either but I have shot plenty of friendly planes and friendly helos out of the sky with both a2a and g2a missles.

say if u are chasing an enemy jet and infront of him is a friendly jet that he is chasing; you lock&fire a2a at target but if they miss they will lock onto the next heat source (afterburners of the friendly) and hit him. and say 1 other missle hit the friendly jet as well....thats definate. and it all happens too quick to realise what just happened. maybe jets have hitbox registry problems just like bullets from kit weapons.?!

well to get back on topic:

I have downed a UAV with an AA missile.

I was on an IGLA. If you don't target anything and you just fire, they kind of arc up. I noticed when i lost a lock on a helo and the missile arced up, it barely missed the UAV. I waited for the UAV to come back around and fired and took it out in one lucky shot.

But it didn't guide, it simple collided.

Dont want to hijack, and dont want to start a new thread, but does destroying a UAV meen that it stops working all-together? Or is it just for show, and even if you do destroy it, it still works and shows peoples positions?

It stops working but respawns anout 20 secs later. There needs to be a PROPER way to down that stupid thing, not "blow up this trailer that somehow got moved onto an aircraft carrier, and you can keep it down for the 10 seconds it takes to magic box it back".

Preferably something that lasts a good 5-10 mins.

What do you meen it respawns 20 seconds later? Is that just the normal cooldown for the UAV to be available again, or do you meen it literally respawns back in the same place after about 20 seconds? Im talking about shooting down the actual UAV, not the trailor.

I mean to say that even if you kill the UAV, the commander just waits however long and replaces it.
