Erm, yeah, obviously.

But personally, I think it should be the RAM that causes most of the lag, i've got an P4 2.4Ghz, x800GT and 1GB DDR2 RAM and it'll lag if I max out the settings.

Try to lower your textures setting, should make it more smoother.

I have exactly the same problem.

There are two solutions:

1) get used to city maps such as karkand, sharqi, mashtuur and jalalabad

2) get a new comp.

My settings sound similar to yours but my processor is not fast, 1.8 ghz.

And now to the topic... First post your full specs, from what you said - 700MB ram isn't enogh at all. Ive got 1G and it's not perfect.
And a fast processor isn't as neccessary as a fast GFX card. I mean a really good proc. with a lame card will result in a very bad performance, in contrast with a bad proc and an excellent card which results in med-high-high performance.

I run everything on High and have no lag on those maps!!! I get minor slowing on night time SF maps because of the shading, but it is not jumpy.

You definitley need a better gaming rig (with 2Gb of RAM)

collision mesh is usually the culprit for lag. the closer you are to complex objects (or complex collision meshes i should say) the more lag you will get.

try playing iron gator 64 player with no lag (que the "mommy bought me an alienware and i can run it fine you n00b" kid)
