MAy I ask whats SO important about getting the First seargant promotion?

i just looked at the "how to get first seargant promotion thread" its about getting all those badges BEFORE 20k points or you have to go fro master or gunnery seargent.

whats so importtant about first seargant, dont the ranks just go in a lnie...one then the other?

I don't know why you need to become first sergeant, possibly for unlocks or maybe it's the fact that as you go up the ranks EA choose who to promote so if you were first sergeant it looks better.

Its just something to aim for... I got all my basic badges before 1k so im ok

How could you not have all the basic badges before 20k?

Having First Sargent only helps if you are applying for commander.

becuz lots of ppl get master sergeants and they come here to ask about when theyre going to get first sergeant, but then they realize its too late and they will never get first sergeant because they didnt get the badges first

and the knife combat badge was pretty hard for me to get.

i got that combat knife badge SO easy eventually i just realized i would spam flashbangs then run in with no requrd for my health bar i would find them waiting for the flash to wear off and i shanked em.

It's just because there are 800000000 threads asking the same question because no one knows how to search.

Having a sticky probably won't matter because people skip over those and hit the "New Thread" button without thinking.

That and they don't know how to read promotion requirements...

Some people will make getting to First Sergeant a personal achievement i suppose it makes playing the game worthwhile and rewarding, just like me playing to get to First Sergeant first then going onto Sergeant Major.

If you feel theres no point to it then so be it but others wont share your views and will continue to try and reach that landmark Rank

yep. I once hit 308 points on a legit warlord server that everyone had left so it was down to 16 players.

I just got my basic support a few weeks ago (Jan 28th 2007), and I was probably just under 40K when it happened.

I nearly fell on the floor laughing. Obviously I don't go support often at all. My buddies were breaking my balls about being cheap with the ammo.

I didn't hear the end of it all night.
