    Re: Soloing

Solo your a noob, you might have solo skills (something I dont), but ya still a noob. LOL

OK, right, Im gonna park up two tanks and keep switching between the two, cos I cant trust noobs out there who dont know how to shoot with the thing.

As you can see, thats pretty silly. So is any soloing. OK, you might be skilled and do a good job than some noob. But that aint the point. This is a SOCIAL game, and because of it you have to accept the non skilled players, as well as the leet.

Only time when soloing is accecptable is when there is just no one around to take the second seat.

One solo chopper Vs a chopper with 2 - the solo never wins.

You want to play single player games? then pi$$ off from BF2

Although your entire post was already worth f*ck all because of the first statement, if you remotely had something intelligent/intelligible to say, this invalidates it 2x. Get a clue, I have never seen a 2 man team win against a soloer.

I'd say a 2 man crew is better for 2 reasons

        1. in a dog fight after the gunner has fired the TV missile the pilot can straight away do evasive moves or fly back out of range where as the solo guy is left spinning in one spot

        2. aswell as destroying armor, heli's etc a 2 man crew is very affective against infantry. watched a USMC 2 man crew do this on wake, just flying round the airfield not letting anyone get in a vehicle.

I think we can all agree that somebody who is good, will most likely win from someone who is bad...
It doesn't matter if it's a soloer or a team...

In publics though, the chances of two random people who are good, stepping into 1 chopper are slim...

This is why I prefer to go solo whenever I can, making use of the fact that, most likely, the opposing team is hampered by at least 1 of the 2 guys in the chopper not beeing very good...

If you're soloing, you almost never put yourself in the position of being in range of another chopper in the first place though. Move into view distance, fire, and move out. If you do get too close, you can usually pull off a TV shot halfway through a dodging move, and provided you're high enough, the heli usually dodges for you.

Not to mention, the psychological effect - a 2 man team works if both keep their nerve, but a soloer would have to be confident to be able solo in the first place.

Of course, a 2-man team is far better for raping the ground and usually controls the game, but a solo person usually takes them out while they're doing that. Think of an F-15 against a J10, the F-15 is ripping the ground to shreds, but the second the J10 is on the scene, it's game over.

Yeah.. and when you get good enough at soloing you can rape the ground just as good as a 2-man crew.

                Re: Soloing

I have no problem with a Solo'er on my team, if he's very effective we can use the the other person who would otherwise be in the Helicopter on the ground in a vehicle/squad.

This coming from a gunner of an attack Helo.

                      True that.

In the past few weeks, I've had nothing better to do than practice chain-gunning and other silly things in singleplayer (Iqaluit connections f*cking suck with their 650 pings) and I can tell ya... it's a simple matter of correcting your spin while you're shooting them up.

I do that when my college connection decides to doop out. Although it never makes me much better at anything(what with comparing a 0 ping to something between 50-100). It's always easier for me to solo in SP, in MP I've been getting every single TV bug in the game all at once, and haven't been doing it for a while.(Not talking about shooting down the bots in helicopter, that's never hard, I'm talking about chain gun practice and armor/transport raping).

Gotos recently posted a video very clearly demonstrating the technique, in case you're interested in being proven wrong.
