VoIP working/not working

I've always wanted to know, you see, I go into a server with my friend and we talk on VoIP, when we come back, we can't hear each other? And it happens for other people. I can hear them but they can't hear me or vice versa. I heard a rumor that sometimes your VoIP gets muted but I don't know.

there are many audio issues with BF2
and often you settings get changed without your input
just check them on oacassion
and make sure you are in the same squad??

happens to me, my VOIP randomly gets turned off, then I restart game, and happens again. SOOO annoying for 2142.
