    Just me?

Is it just me when it takes 5 minutes to login to my online account, and it takes forever to verify client. How can we speed it up.

It used to take me a long time (2-3 minutes) to log into my account... Then one day after the 1.41 patch, it magically sped up. It takes about 10 seconds now.

I don't really know how it happened, or ways to fix it.

When's the last time you defragmented your hard drive?

Here are tips on verifyin client data.

That's BF2 for ya buddy... sometimes I can eat, take shower and take a nap and wake up to see it's still logging me on and there are times I can't even blink when it's all done.

right click your C: drive and click on properties > click tools tab > choose second option "defragment now" > new window opens highlight C: and click on Defragment... go watch a movie, when it's done click OK, OK and ur done.

Erease all servers in your favourites that are red/broken. Works great for me.

First you want to run "Disk Cleanup."
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.
              Then to defragment.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Defragment Drive.

You should restart before doing this, and disable any virus scanning software. Be prepared to let your computer run for about 3 or 4 hours in order to defrag. I usually disable screen savers and any power saving options. I run it right before bed, and when I wake up it is all good to go. Just reboot and you're set.

:edit: ^You reminded me... Check My Documents > Battlefield 2 > LogoCache... I cleared that folder out, and it may help you too.

you need to clean out your recent server history. open up
                /my documents/bf2/profiles/000x/general.con
in notepad and 1/2 way through the file you will see the recent servers list. delete those lines and save the file. if you have multiple accounts they will be numbered 0001, 0002, etc.
what happens is, bf2 query's all your recent servers when your logging in and that can take some time. I usually delete my recent servers every few days.
