To OP: It's slightly ironic you complaining about an age range you are currently in? Maybe you should heed your own message and enjoy your childhood while its still there...it will go faster than you think and you won't get it back. Enjoy being irresponsible while you still have a valid accuse, you can read books and be responsible for the next 50 years of your life.....

Nah, Carragher would be great at BF2, the badass CB. Gerrard would be trying to be a hero and take on lots of players, then getting shot down. Craig Bellamy would be the 13 yr old little whiner crying about someones "l33t hax" which is pwnzing him.

Reina would be the dumb medic who rezzes the other team, generally being a n0ob. (you see the newcastle game - he just booted the ball at Martins - soo nooby )

Whatever happened to sports? I mean I played a lot of video games as a kid, but my parents would "force" me to do other things.

I wouldn't blame these kids (well, maybe for what they do in-game), but I would blame their parents' hands-off approach to parenting... well, lack of parenting.

It was the kids...the damn 8/10/12yr old kids who stuffed up Battlefield 2...every time I go to my local shopping center...what do I see? An internet cafe. Who is playing BF2? As said above, only the 8/10/12yr olds. I can recognise BF2 from a mile away, and therefore I can't help but stop and stare at the screen. What does the kid do? *cough* M95. Aircraft map. Boom. Headshot. He kills his teammate for the jet. Yes this is coming from a 12yr old. But it really pi$$es me off...why can't they do something productive for once? They play BF2 like its their life...can't they go read a book? Like the Da Vinci Code...there go cause some household controversy. Or Steven Hawkings, A Brief History Of Time. Go learn physics or something. Stop making this game crap for all of us! :|:

I must have missed something, the first time I played an online multiplayer game I was 16.:|: ...or 15, cant quite remember. Whatever the case its a deep part of a childs or "tweens" psychological development. As a child grows older they become more and more aware of their surroundings as well as consequences resulting from their actions. Essentially, the advent of computer technology is a double-edged inflatable sword.

The worse people Ive met in online gaming are games were it is free to play after you buy the game.
The best people Ive met, and the most adult players Ive met are people who pay-to-play (like MMORPG's)
People have less of a tendency to be dumbas$es when they have to pay 12-15 bucks a month.

Take for example a game like Anarchy Online (its a MMORPG). I wouldnt act like a dork when playign since I pay for that account and people do care what you do and say...acting like a tool means being left out of hunting, fighting, dungeons etc..

It be great to see a form of a FPS with a pay-to-play aspect...not an MMORPG, but a MMOG Add in say experience (points) for unlocks and such. Say you pick a side of an army and you had social areas for soldiers to talk and such before going to a building that houses server selection functions. Think about clan halls. Shops were players can spend points on customizing uniforms and weapons. Maps catering to higher ranks..kind of like zones were noobers would be killed do to power of higher ranks weapons and skill increases.

Also every MMORPG Ive played has had far far far far more support with listening to the player base then Ive ever seen out of EA. They know to keep that monthly payments coming in from subscribers issues from glitches, expansions, etc.. must be priority.
Im not saying MMORPG developers listen to ever whine or problem...but 99% better then EA does.

Plus not many 12 yr olds have access to a credit card

I was about 13 when I first played Xbox live. But I played at most 3 hours a week. I was out riding my bmx all the other times.

While a lot of BF2tards are generally in the 10-16 year old range, I've seen my fair share of adults acting like spoiled kids. For instance, once a guy TKed me for the A-10 on a server so I reported him to the admins. He joined my squad and was like "you're a total ****ing noob, you ****ing suck at jets (mind you this was a colonel who was going maybe 2:1 with it) and life get the **** out of here ***." I wouldn't have been surprised if the voice was cracking every other word, or was rather high pitched, but no this sounded like a disgruntled 30 year old.

Real-life social events, school, sports, extra-curricular activities, clubs and church events are way better for pyschological development.

The internet is not the way to develop your psyche... People do not act the same online as in real life.

Sure there are exceptions, and the argument you bring up is an old and tired one, and not based in fact. The fact is, anyone 30+ will be a lot more mature, experienced in life than any tween. That's just the way it is. They have jobs, responsibilities, homes, marriages, kids and families.
