You know, I am about to SLI my machine, and I can't find another 7900GT new...but I am finding several on eBay. may check there, because my single 7900GT is excellent for BF2, I am pretty cranked up on resolution. I should walk away with another 7900GT for about $120.

I am only going SLI, not because of BF2, but because QuakeWars will be coming out in another couple months...and it will not require DirectX10. So, two 7900GTs should be excellent for it. If you are not considering Vista, you will be very fine.

hmm, well for that price range that 400W PSU might handle it. It depends on the quality of it too. If you decide to upgrade your GFX, to say a 7950GTX or a G80 down the road, you will need to bump up your power in your box. If you are going to OC, then keep in mind that PSU might be an anchor.

Yes, the 7900GS is a much better product. The reason being, it has 20 pipes vs the 12 pipes of the 7600GT. Now, sure, the GT has a sliver more MHz, that means little.

It is really all about the pixel pipes with the G70 family. With the G80 family (like the 8800GTS) pipes are not really the issue because it can change how it handles the data being pushed through it on the life.

The more pipes, the more data that gets to get crunched. If you can afford it, go with the 7900GS.

I have a EVGA 7900GT. It runs very well. I had at EVGA 7800GT, but it had some quirky problems so I sent it back, got a full refund. Then I turned around and got the 7900GT because it came out a few weeks after I bought the 7800GT. It has now been a year and I am looking to get a second 7900GT. They have stopped making them, but I can find them on Ebay. There is actually someone selling one a couple miles from my house on ebay for what could end up being about $150.

I figured I would just SLI my box now, since the price is right and QuakeWars will not require DX10.

On a side note, my co-worker bought EVGA cards then turned around and used their step-up program to upgrade his cards with-in the 6month period. He really got a steal out of it too.

I really wanted an XfX card, but all my co-workers talked me into an EVGA. They seem good enough, but they have outstanding customer support which is always a BIG selling point.
