bf2 looked AWSOME back then

even now u see threads of the old bf2

on the back of the box: it show the e3 version, proof: winged blackhawks and white support guys.

also, if u want to see bf2 in action while in beta etc, go to IGN.com and look
on the last page of the videos youll see a 3-4 videos of the tralier but mixed with beta gameplay!

Yeh i remeber before release it look absolutly awesome if you watch some of the early gameplay videos the effects are hell of alot better E.g exploding tanks looked soo cool but they had to scale it down as the minimum requirements were so huge for its time

also the Humvee also had a TOW missile attachment and the blackhawk had missile pods on its sides

they should really include the hovercraft as theres a big gaping hole where it was supposed to be placed below the carrier deck where the boats are

Man. I miss those features. I remember being so pumped up for it when seeing them. I wish EA did not totally change the game. The MEC skins looked just fine, and some of the maps were great looking. I love how Mashtuur City looked then, too. It was an urban sprawl, now it seems much more desolate and empty.

would have been nice to see some of that stuff in the current bf2.. I would have liked the old mashtur city, more buildings to duck in and out of.

The tank effects look brilliant.

Karkand looks alot better aswell.

Brings a tear to my eye that they decided to scrap some really good features and I agree with Sniper on the Mashtuur issue. I prefer the interfaces in those screenshots too, look a little........fresher for lack of a better word.

That picture of Kubra Dam reminded me of the reason I wanted to get BF2 in the first place. I remember when they were showing that level to people before release. Thats where they showed the ability to blow up bridges. I thought it looked so cool the way they made it look so "tactical" and team based. The spec ops guys ran up, planted C4, waited for a tank i think, then blew the bridge, cutting off their route. Its not that great in the actual game

Well, guys I know life sucks. But let me tell you a story about bf2. When I was soo bored from bf1942 and bfv so I look everything at the site I saw new game coming soon called Battlefield 2 fancy font with silver color not red! So I saw some screenies it look sooo sick graphic almost like...dx 10 card but..that graphic is soo freakin awesome. The tank blow with dust when you about shoot and...the karkand have no fogs which is awesome. Only one thing made me buy the game is...New looking wepons and fancy commander and global points which we have now. But the fancy wepons didn't show. I don't get it why the ea change there mind?? I'm crying again...Oh also when I got the game I was soo stupid...I couldn't find a map that have helos in karkand I was like wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf piss me off I had keep looking for hrs...so...the ea...fooled us! That all I have to say folks!


Also one thing sucky graphic is APC wheel look small ugly before came out but now they have tough big wheel require high setting.

Oh also maybe they didn't do it because take much alot requirement on that system I mean...see that karkand graphic look hella real...so...that game could require 2gig of ram geforce 6+ only...know what I mean...so I think that why they change it.

Keep in mind thats for SF, not BF2. They originally intended players to be able to swim underwater.

Edit: Found it! Remember this video that came out before release? Its of Mashtuur city and it shows someone calling in an airstrike by "painting" a target.
