More then likely a driver issue. Have you got you BF2 crash log?

I'd search out all new drivers for your hardware then try again.

given that nvidia only has beta drivers out for vista, that could be the cause

I am running BF2 with no probs what bios are you using i have the p24

I did find that vista uses a lot of ram it pushed my 2gig of ram up to 92-98% when playing bf2 so i put my ram up to 4gb and it runs at 38%

Also i put a ocz 1gb flash stick in and enabled readyboost/superfetch and BF2 now loads in at an amazing 20 seconds

That may be my answer , is Visat that Ram intensive , I mean 2 Gb of what o have should be more than enough . I have been thinking of buying another 2Gb but i am waiting to see what the new G SKILL 4Gb kit is going to be like ?

Re: 64Bit Vista Blue screen of death

The above ram tests was while i was playing bf2 i was running performance monitor within vista .With only 2gb i was getting random crashes to desk top and blue screen of death and some times a memory error message.

Since i have used 4gb and a usb flashstick to enable readyboost i have no probs at all.

I have been upgrading my system for the past year now, and after a lot of trail and errors i am very happy with my system set up and performance i am just annoyed that my second 8800gtx is sitting in its box as there is no sli drivers out for vista yet

For the 8800 series cards there is, though it's only a beta.

              Enjoy: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_100.64.html

Also, my USB 2 flash pen won't work for readyboost.

Hey, well at least you know your BSOD is 64-bit. That's cool.

How has this readyboost crap been working?

Are you overclocking? Sometimes overclocking your motherboard too much will give you the BSOD randomly while playing a game. Most newer mobos clock themselves back to default if the CPU gets too warm, but if the mobo gets too warm, you'll crash. Watch this if that is infact what you are doing.

I bought a 3.77GB stick for £20 or less and it turned out it wasn't a heap of junk - very decent actually
