Re: clans..
If the clan is sponsored then the server/website is free and there are no costs attached to the clan. If you can prove you are mature for your age then most clans wouldn't discriminate against age.Comment

Re: clans..
Every clan is going to have different reqs for joining, but anyone that has to pay to be in a clan should have their head examined. Donating for servers, and websites, vent/ts and stuff is cool, but I have heard some whack *** clans just charge a fee...lolComment

Re: clans..
No, you can just put up your own clan with your buddies and go play against others and have fun. Or you can join a clan, depending on your skill level. There are also communities, which may have their own server(s) and mostly play on their own and sometimes play more or less friendly games against other communities. These games may have up to 64 players. Real clans usually play 8v8 or less and compete against each other. Most also have some skill requirements, but there are also beginner friendly clans.
And no, if you feel you can play in a group and communicate and participate in training you can join, regardless of your age. Some clans have own servers and cost a few bucks each member a month, some wont charge.
Just find a good group and go hang with them and join what feels good. Go look for 16p unranked to find real competing clans.Comment

Re: clans..
in my opinion, if u had to pay to be in a clan, i would choose to pay forsomething like bf2combat. but like u shouldnt pay for most clans unless like its totally necessary for like server hosting. the best clans are ones with ur friends. its alot betterthan playing with a few ppl u dont kno/never seen. just get like 3-5 friends and call urself a clan.Comment

Re: clans..
our 'clan' has 300 members
but only about 30 regulars that play all the time
with at least 15 play every day
we request donations of $10 and 95% of the adults pay
we have no age restrictions, or skill requirements
just MATURITY
in return - we get a GREAT server (ie HIGHEST technical quality = lag free play) and a GREAT ventrilo server
and TONS of GREAT Teamwork and FUN
there are TONS of clan servers
and this website has a CLAN section
just read through there and pick one
good luck

Re: clans..
If you're a decent player, whos known for their maturity; clan invitations become a daily thing.
If you really want to become a part of a clan, try playing regularly on a clan server that you enjoy. Try joining their ventrillo and teamspeak. Try learning their names, and try owning them on a regular basis. The invites'll come easy then.

Off Topic Rant: (Reader discretion is advised.)
However... for those of us not looking to be part of a clan, it can become tedious rejecting the more persistant invitations.
Some people don't understand why some people prefer to be unaffiliated pub-newbs.
The reasoning is simple; there are no obligations.
I personally have too much responsibility in real life, and a severe sleeping disorder, so the last thing I need is more stress lobbed into my lap from a game that I was originally playing for fun.Comment

Or, you know, go to mIRC, CAL forums, TWL forums, to get clans that are not just getting up there stupid imaginary rank over there head :POriginally posted by DairukaIf you really want to become a part of a clan, try playing regularly on a clan server that you enjoy. Re: clans..
for every loser than whinesOriginally posted by signalol your clan just came under fire:
http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109747
we get tons of repeat visitors that enjoy the way we admin our server . . .
no smacktards allowed
tk for a vehicle -> no warning = BAN
violet posted server rules - warned. maybe twice, then kick
we promote team play - no glory seeking for individual points
if we are powning the opposition, we back off and give them flags to stop the bleeding
if they are stuck on the boat and too DUMB to bail from a jet or cobra to get a flag - we skip to next map ( so as not to have them bleed to death and die endlessly in RIB and BH)
sometimes we through our players over and help them
and if they are too dumb to join a squad and use VOIP to communicate in attack vehicles we warn them, them and kick them out if they do play for the team // we offer free ventrilo server to all visitors (that we pay for out of our pocket) and we even teach new players how to use it, and the reactions are tremendous to those that have never tried it before
if you do not like to use voice comms, and want to play lone wolf and ignore the CO or commander - fine - just do it some where else - why does one whiner get to effect the comradery of 39 others?
so , , , yes - we have a few whiners . .. but our forum is full of visitors that post how much they enjoy our server, our sense of team play and team tacticsComment
